  1. Thank you dx for info on combofix. Sod'em asked his question the ' oracle's ' of Cag answered with fix Sod'em up and running again. well done forestchav _ as for the install from CD, the CD's where shop bought program disc's. I have been building computer systems for 15+ years. The only shop bought computer is my wife's laptop even that was bought without Operating system installed so that it could be personalised without having format and clean the drives first. As for browser it is personal choice and what you feel comfortable in using. I already know how to suck eggs. dk
  2. dx what is combofix ? No it does not It depends what has latched on to your entire system. I have in the past removed C drive (actual harddrive) installed new harddrive installed Windows and all my program files from CD. Only to get the same infection back. I had diconnected my computer from home network and internet. Hence infection was embedded in saved data on other harddrives and re-infected new C drive. dk
  3. Caro I do not think mutlticar companies on comparison sites either. dk Yes pinkduchess I do like the smilies
  4. I still cannot change font / colour / size / bullets etc in either quick reply or advanced. no post times in threads. for the rep button (star) I need to right click it for it to open. All just minor bits. Still posting. my Computer is just about ready for major overhaul ie new motherboard to change processor to up grade to Windows 7. Just working through house jobs list first to free up some pennies. what is the promote to article? dk
  5. The best thing about comparison websites is you can get different quotes from alot of companies. When I search for insurance I try at least 3 websites. My daughter always has a quote from the broker she uses , then inputs info on comparison websites then phones broker to tell them what they comparison website quote is, broker returns with a better offer which she the accepts. She gets a lower quote with me as a named driver. In your own case you might want to check multicar insurance companies as well as caro said depends what the difference is between fully comp and TPFT. dk
  6. :fear: I last rode a bike in 84 even back then it was policy for lid to be removed (banks and petrol stations), but the laughable part of it was in the winter and I wore a balaclava (not full face) under my helmet and was not asked for it to be removed. So in answer to your question mazbak the rider should remove his/her helmet and not just for security but out of politeness to the staff. dk
  7. Jeffo I would look at the advice that BUZBY has posted, it does seem to keep your options open. Good luck Please let us now the out come Crem that is correct advice you are giving to learner (M S M plus glance round to blind spot), but as OP stated the Driver (I assume full license) did not see him before pulling out onto the road, so I dare say the motorist was never aware of the bike before making the left turn. I did ride a small 100cc bike for a couple of years, during that time I often wished all motorists to try and ride a bike. (Gov would love the extra revenue it would raise. ) Even now as a car driver I find it rather annoying when a car pulls out from a side road/street and does not accelerate to the speed of the traffic it has just joined so in turn you have slow down. dk
  8. At least you do not have to read between the lines to work out G & M's posts. I do not do the christmas card thing dk
  9. Hi site team I think the OP has resigned himself to fall on his sword. regards dk
  10. Bigdebtor I think your need to start your own thread about your PCN and not hi-jack this OP's thread. regards dk
  11. Surely a driver who holds a full license by passing a driving test (and possibly a theory exam) should know the rules of the highway, cannot be classed as a lay person. As a Blue Badge holder I know where I can and cannot park using Blue Badge. With the Blue Badge there is a booklet outlining the usage of the badge. I also keep upto date on the latest parking regs for were I do park. Councils have a habit of changing road markings and kerb markers and signage, which can at certain times (mainly peak hours to assist traffic flow in City Center) suspend Disabled Bays. I class myself as an average driver, who dislikes receiving tickets hence I park correctly so no tickets. I hope this meets the criteria in helping the OP. dk
  12. Hi-jacking again Of Topic The following quote can be applied to the vast majority of CAG. dk
  13. . There again sometimes a short but to the point answer is what a new member needs to start of with. Before I made my first post I had read through the topic first and understood that some poster's posts were mere digs at other poster's info. This post of mine might also be be concidered as one, but for the fact I am not making a dig at any one with on TOPIC info. dk
  14. sorry to hi-jack Slightly of topic. and apologies to site team. Unfortunately with some threads that are opened the OP know his/her actions leads to an offence being commited. Then they post on here asking how not to pay. It is posts of this type that needed to have " triangle hit on '' and not the responding poster's negative and confrontational style of posting. People tend not to notice or say when G & M's postings lead to the OP not having to pay a penalty of any discription. If people knowingly commit an offence then they should be willing to take the penalty, and not shout & whine on here about it when they do not like tough love answers. Back to topic If you look at the sign in the OP's post (2 wheels on pavement) then you look at the sign G&M posted (4 wheels on pavement) you will see a clear difference of road signage. OP has replied to state that there where no bays marked (that negates some posted replies). dk
  15. Hi Martin Is there an update? Does the pensioner understand what has happened ? dk
  16. HB they are in "go advanced" in the reply part "more"
  17. Hi Postggi this has been copied from another thread " Private Parking Ticket" "Re: Private Parking Ticket - Have I admitted liability? Aintree University Hospitals NHS Foundation Trust v. Paul Helmn (20th August 2010) The claimant stated they were owed £50 from Mr Helmn for parking in a disabled bay in the hospital car park without displaying a blue badge. The judge found that the sum was a contractual penalty and not a genuine pre-estimate of loss. The case was dismissed . " I assume the same judgement would be levied (I know this states Disabled bay but makes no difference) dk
  18. I still do not have post times in the threads. I still cannot change font, Size, Colour, highlight etc . even in advanced. Tonight usable emoticons have changed (better) Post Icons have changed (awful) General colour and layout not to bad, there again I have not been a member that long the old version was better. Yes I do understand the logic in the need for the update as old version being phased out. I do not have a particular field of intrest Mainly browse new posts, but they seem to less and less dk
