  1. I unfortunately signed up with this company back in 2013. On signing up I felt that I was bull rushed into signing the paperwork and when asking questions the male who came out was really obtuse. At the time I had been made redundant and felt I had no choice. No body explained to me about the charging order put on my property either. Last year I phoned and asked how much to settle the account as I am selling the property. The person on the phone laughed stating I had another four years. I asked for a copy of the contract as I was not told it would be for ten years. However on reading the small print it is actually 14 years. the company have been rude and unpleasant and not at all helpful. I had been struggling with debt and the sale of the property is part of my solution. however the company do not care and just want their money. I also discovered in the small print that there is a charging order on the property and they wouldn’t remove until I paid thousands. I spoke to ASG again and explained I didn’t have thousands but would in a position to then start paying if I could reduce my debt by selling the house but cannot because of the charging order. I was told to ask my solicitor by shade greener regards to an undertaking in respect of my situation with a promise to pay and they would put a hold on my account whilst waiting for the solicitor to set this up. However in the meantime they have now sent me court papers. I was given a settlement figure and I believed was negotiating payment. They have also denied they said about an undertaking and want all the money. I’ve asked them why they sent me papers and they stated they had sent a default notice. However I had phoned them several times regarding this and they said they put a hold on my account. I have also asked for a breakdown of how they came to the figure as it changes all the time. Made a formal complaint by email weeks ago saying I had to phone them in the first instance. So did this to be told I have to put it in writing. I feel like I’m going in circles im at a loss what to do. I’ve had to borrow £2400 to pay them and now have to pay the £150 on top which they won’t negotiate on. I feel they have done nothing to help me and not even willing to open into discussions. I will continue down a formal complaint path so I can take this to the ombudsman. The company miss sold to me and failed to be upfront with the details of the contract.
  2. Hi tillytiger I to am in a mess with loads of these companies. Im a working single mum of two. I took out the first loan then another etc just like you did. My income then dropped and i cannot pay. It is horrible and I can relate to that constant sick feeling in the pit of ur stomach. I havent read all the posts, so sorry if im repeating myself. This is what the cccs advised. Cancel all cards if possible change ur account. They will try all sorts of tactics to scare you............dont let them. You are within your rights to tell them to remove all ur phone numbers from their records and only contact you by mail. Im sure payplan have template letters for this kinda thing. As long as u pay them a pound a month there is not much they can do. This is what I have done.( I owe to at least 10) They still try it on now and again but I no longer enter into debate with them. I just send a £1 I phone the CCCS for advice now and again when Im feeling vunerable and they really put you at ease. I recommend trying them. Oh also, I was told by cccs to never send cheques as they are not secure. But to set up standing orders as you then have the control. These company are the absolute pits, and are nothing more than bullies. They have never visited me in person although they have threatened it. So tillytiger I know its a horrible thing to be dealing with. But you are not alone. Im amazed by how many people are in the same boat. The best advice i ever had was to contact CCCS who are totally impartial. (i heard a rumor that payplan recieve its funding from lenders!!!!!!!! which isnt very impartial). Apologies if this isnt the case but i was told this by a large financal institute. sorry if ive gone on a bit. But I have so much I would like to say about it all. Take care.
  3. ps so sorry for all the errors in my last post but my head was working faster than my fingers.
  4. Hi there, Im amazed at how many people this has happened to. I had my account cleared by a pay day loan company so this is what I did. I explained to my bank that it was an unauthorized transacton which is was (i had also contacted them saying my income had dropped so I needed to pay a smaller amount for a while). Natwest said I needed to contact the visa charge back people which they gave me a number for. I contacted them. I had to fill in two decleration forms plus I put a covering letter explaining why it wa not authorized. Two days the visa charge back dept refunded my account. As a single mum with two kids and 3 weeks to payday I could have kissed them. Having no money is no joke. And these companies need to realise they cannot get away with theft anymore. I really hope this helps.
  5. PS, I had told cg that I needed to make reduced payments. Plus I had been paying just interest for months. They then just helped themselves to as much as they could, when they realised I had little money. No doubt trying to line their pockets asap. So if the bank says they are genuine PLEASE emphasise that you did not authorise the amount they took. It may take a while. Talk to different people at the bank and get the phone number for the visa charge back team. One person I spoke to had not heard of visa Charge back as I believe its not widely known about. Anyway all the best.
  6. Hi, I have just read ur posts and felt I needed to respond so have just singned up. Cash Genie also cleared my account and left me with no money for the rest of the month.I was distraught as I already struggle due to a drop in income. Iam also a single parent with two children. So I phoned CG who were horrible and really did not give a dam. In fact the attitude was oh well tuff s@?t. Very unpleasent. I did not authorize them to do this.so I contacted my bank. My bank said I could contact the Visa Charge Back team and they could help. So I did, I had to fill in a form plus I put a covering letter explaining what these theifs did. They were very helpful. I got my money back. And I will continue to pay these people an amount that I can afford. So if people do take money via ur debit card do a charge back asap. Dont let these people get away with theft out of your account. I really hope this helps. And good luck.
