  1. thank you regan and pinky, what does this CCA request letter exactly do?
  2. I have been having trouble with this company for a few years, making an agreement then them harrassing me by letter every 3 months for more money. Well they found out my telephone number somehow, I never gave them this number every, and have been leaving me 3-4 messages a week on adverage to contact them. I have been a regular payer, and have recently sold some personal stuff to sell of other smaller debts I have in order to increase the payments to £25 per week, I have been paying £10 per month for a while, as I am a lone parent on income support. I phoned them today to tell them of the £25 payment per week increase to pay them off, which should get my debt off in a year, and they wanted to know, my mobile number, my income support details, my child tax credit details, how much I get for everything, and they knew I had paid these other debts off with a credit report they recently had done on me. The others I paid off were around £200 each. And they pressured me into paying a lump sum today. I feel fuming mad! I asked if it was necessary to take all this information, i didn't mind telling them about my income support, but telling them about my daughters money well thats separate thats hers. It should't be taken into account, I got really mad at this point and hung up! Want to they want next my DNA information? I feel so upset right now, I feel like all my dignity has been stripped away from me, when I am obviously trying to do the right thing and pay my debt off, but they seem to want blood this company
  3. thanks ever so much for answering, kinda of put my mind at rest, does seem incredible silly though to have a loan constantly getting bigger and bigger, makes no sense, should be interest free really, a kind of sponcership. Thank you again Sue
  4. thank you I was unsure where to post it
  5. Hi, I took out a student loan in 2001 for my studies, and it total up around £6,000 over the two years I was at University, unfortunately I had to drop out because of illness and have pretty much been on benefits on and off upto now. I got a statement today, with the new balance which is £9,725 which has completely horrified me, obvously its added interest over the last few years, I was wondering if the interest should be frozen being as I was on benefits attall? Or does it just carry on building up. The thing that scares me the most, is I am unlikely to even start paying the loan off as I didn't qualify from the course to get a highly paid job and am still sick, i am just terrified that the interest is going to gather year in and year out, and gonna end up a constantly escalating loan, which I can't possibly pay, I know I don't have to pay anything untilI earn over a certain amount, its scary, I have had my head in the sand as far as the student loans worked, I was just concentrating on my studies at the time
  6. thanks for the reply I will seek out and read those links
  7. I have had a few catalogue and credit card debts that total up to around £3,000 . Well I have managed to sell a few personal things and get my debt halved within the last few weeks. But what worries me is the debt collecting agencies keep changing all the time, and I am very worried whether I will be charged double! I have 3 outstanding ones left now, and one of the creditors are confusing the life out of me, one minute scotcall is handling the debt I am paying them, and the next minute and then EOS turn up and say I am late paying the same debt with them whats going on? They make these court demands sometimes and sometimes I am confused as to know which one has changed to where, there is never a letter of warning. Also Direct legal and EOS have found my private telephone number now and are constantly leaving messages, I never gave them this number and its ex directory. I feel very distressed. I am busting a gut trying to get them off my back, its pretty hard when you single parent on a low income.
