QQ have finally sent my debt on to a DCA - but I lucked out and got Gothia! Are they easier to deal with?

I have the Lending Stream bank details if you need them to make standing order payments.

WDA are ok to deal with but review after 3 months and want to up the payments. I managed to negotiate with them but they are generally fine.

Talk to John Hegarty - the complaints manager. I blasted them about getting the Broken Payment arrangement email when I had paid and he was actually VERY helpful - and now nobody gets it! Woot!

Jamie does give good advice! It depends how you want to deal with them but it is VITAL to have everything in writing so that if it does escalate to court you have proof of your contact. If they ring you at work and you do answer it, just explain that you are unable to take personal calls at work and ring them on your mobile in a break if you can - even if it's to say it's all in the email and I want to keep a written record of everything. They have no right to speak to your wife though - unless it's in both your names!

The debt is enforceable and I have every intention of paying it - just don't see why they need to know my inside leg measurement!!!

Hi I have an outstanding debt to a company and it has been passed to a firm of solicitors. I contacted them saying I would be willing to pay it off in installments. In return they have sent me a 5 PAGE statement of means to fill in!!! Is it compulsory to fill this in or is there a template I can use instead? Thanks

QQ are a prime example of a PDL company who refuse to entertain payment plans. If you want to pay by paypal they want your bank account details and card no and when I queried this denied everything... The best thing to do is wait to go to a DCA and then you will probably have more luck. I'm waiting for that now!

QQ are a nightmare for refusing payment plans that are over 3 months in duration. I play email ping pong with them every week and still no luck. If they have issued a default without notifying you and it ever gets to CCJ stage you can get the claim thrown out on that technicality I believe (robjam is your man for that I think).

I agree - Jamie has been in the same situation as all of us and suffered more in some ways with CCJs etc. He speaks a lot of sense and I have benefitted from his advice. The way I dealt with the phone calls was to say that I needed everything in writing for my own records and that for that reason I would prefer to deal with it in writing. Nobody quibbled that as I tended to mention if courts got involved etc etc. If they ring you be polite but firm. You choose when you speak to them and if it's not convenient tell them and either call them back or ask them to call you at a time of your choosing or to email you. It's not worth antagonizing them as they are a nasty lot, but do make sure you keep control. I'm having issues with Debit Card Loans who agreed a payment plan but still ring me every month saying my card has been declined and have refused to answer a formal complaint - next stop OFT I think....

I sent them I&E and that worked for me. They tend to be ok if you give them a bit of paperwork.

Well I cancelled my card and Wonga, QQ, PDE, WDA, Wages Today, Mr. Lender and Speed-e-Loans weren't able to do anything! I also emailed them and while some were a bit huffy at first all bar QQ have accepted a payment plan!

I've dealt with all bar Lending Stream who I've snowballed, and here's my take on things. QQ - you will play email pingpong with them unless you can do a three month repayment plan, so hold off until they contact a DCA WDA - very reasonable. Their collections manager is Richard King and while they do request I&E they will accept what other companies would consider a low offer without much quibble. PDE - need nagging by email quite a lot but will eventually agree your plan. THey tend to like I&E too. Wonga -need shooting. Send all your emails to Errol Damelin, the head honcho, and try and break it into a 12 month repayment plan - 12 months or below and they will accept, above that and you have very little chance of getting them to agree. You are doing the right thing - you can do this and there is light at the end of the tunnel!

They are willing to let you pay by Paypal if you give them all your details INCLUDING your bank details and card number. I queried that and got told every Paypal transaction required that at which point I questioned whether they were actually using Paypal or fishing for card details...

Good luck - QQ's bank details are rarer than rocking horse dung! If anyone has any details for them I'd be interested in getting hold of them too!

PTP's account managers are from the troll school of charm and it pays to be pretty tough to deal with them. If they do ring you at work, tell them under no circumstances are they allowed to call you at work - say that you are not allowed to accept personal calls. They will eventually pass the debt on to Clarity who are lovely to deal with in the relative scale of DCAs. I had a few run-ins with the charm school of PTP and they specialise in bullying people so stay strong and stick to your guns. There are a few other threads on here from people who have dealt with them and the trick is to wait until they get bored (about a month) and pass it on.

Which company is it? I think I have an idea as there's only one I know of based in Malta. Change your numbers on their website in your personal details section so they can't contact you at work and insist on having everything in writing even if you do talk to them. That way you have proof of what you have offered.
