  1. The ESA are saying there is not enough NI Contributions for the year 2006 -2007 or 2007-2008. There would not be any contributions as I was not fit to work since then. There is no way of me paying the missing cont as I have no income at all and my husband wages just gets us by with a struggle.
  2. thanks for your help
  3. The ESA has told me that I am not entitled to any payments because I started the claim last June and my NI is not up to date because there is a gap from 2006. I sent a letter to them and explained I was not in a fit state before to put a claim in to them and my doctor had also wrote a letter to them to confirm my state of mind at the time and also my condition which has not got better. The CAB don't want to help me and don't know where or how to progress from this.
  4. I was not in a fit state to claim ESA in 2006 after my first operation, and understand that my husband's income is surfice and because I did not start a claim at that time there is now a gap in my NI. I do not have the income to build up the remaining NI needed, but is currently submitting the doctor's certificates to the JC. I explained the details to my doctor and he also wrote a letter to support my claim, he also explained to me that I am not fit enough to work, so I am lost and don't know who to contact on what to do. We can just about get by with my husband's income but can be a struggle. I can get around the house and do not require any care, so I suppose there is nothing I can do.

    Esa

I gave up my job in June 2006 due to an emergency operation in April 2006 as it took longer to recover than I had expected, then had more difficulties which resulted in another operation in 2008. This resulted in depression and anxiety attacks which is controlled by drugs. I also suffer from high blood pressure and diabetes. My doctor has signed me off since June last year, after my last operation that was when I explained everything to him and he prescribed me drugs for depression and anxiety attacks. He suggeseed that I go to the CAB to claim for support. The process went through and had the medical, then the ESA replied some time later to say that I had not paid my NI for the period 2006-2008. The case went to the tribunal and the outcome was that my NI was not paid for this period 2006-2008, my doctor wrote a letter to support me but I don’t think it helped. I could not work from June 2006 due to these problems that I had encountered, I did not know at the time that I was going to be out of work for so long. My doctor has told me that I am still unfit for work at my last visit. I have phoned the ESA to ask them what I can do but they told me that once you have a partner working bringing in an income they can't do anything, and once I continue to send in the doctors certificate then my NI will get paid. I have been back to the CAB but I have not had any help from them, they suggest me doing some voluntary work to get back to work. I feel at a lost and don’t know what to do. I don’t feel that I can cope with working at all as I get really tired and don’t feel that I can do what I used to do. I hope that I have explained myself correctly, please let me know if anyone can please help?
