  1. Wow! I didn't realise that. There IS light at the end of the tunnel after all! Quite an eventful Friday evening....
  2. I guessed that would be the case but, it's true that you can never run away from these things forever! I would have trouble getting a mortgage in the UK regardless of how long it's been. Thank you.
  3. Many thanks for your expert opinion. I still have sleepless nights (not as often though now) and worry about returning to live in the UK should I need to, but I shall cross that bridge as and when.
  4. You're absolutely right, there's no reference to it now on my credit file. I'm fully aware that Statute Barred doesn't come into play but, by the same token, CCJ's were issued when I didn't reside in the UK.
  5. Hi there, No I didn't do anything about them and never heard a word about them either. Regards.
  6. Absolutely! You will not be stopped entering the UK or anything. It is a civil matter, not a criminal one. Don't worry, visit your family without stressing about anything like that. Take care.
  7. Hey hardupnotfedup! Have altered the amounts as you suggested, thanks for that. We have been here almost 6 years and there is good and bad to be honest, same as the UK. Worst thing about living here is the frustration sometimes. Most Spanish don´t have an urgent bone in their body! It really is, mañana mañana. Just thought as I have a spanish keyboard that might not be written correctly once it´s on the forum! Manana. Thanks
  8. Hi all! Joined the forum 2 nights ago and have to admit it´s addictive reading. I moved from the UK to Spain in August 2004. After posting a question about my UK debt, I paid Trustonline to find out what debts we have back in the UK. There are 2 CCJs for my husband, 1 dated 04/01/05 for 3,000 and the other 17/05/05 for 5,900. There is 1 for me, dated 25/08/05 for 4,000. My question is ¨Is it wothwhile for me to try and get them set aside?¨ Obviously we were no longer living in the UK when these CCJs were taken out against us. We have no plans to move back to the UK......but can never say never! If my parents were ill or whatever, perhaps we would re-think the situation. Shall I just leave well alone? We haven´t been chased for money in any way since we arrived here(6 years this August), and I don´t really want to open an unnecessary can of worms! What possible repercussions could arise? Sorry to ramble.
  9. Hi citizenB, Yes, been living in Spain since August 2004. Will it be a problem having CCJs set aside as I reside in Spain. No plans to return to the UK......but you can never say never!
  10. Thanks everyone! Can you recommend someone who would be willing to have these 3 CCJs set aside for me please? Perhaps a quote for doing it might be in order first though! By the way....had a great night´s sleep! Sharing a problem when you feel completely isolated is empowering to say the least. Keep up the good work.
  11. Perhaps I will have a great night´s sleep now! I´m indebted to you for your help.
  12. I have done the same for myself.....there is 1 for 4,108 GBP:( What´s the next step? Mine is dated 25/08/05. Exactly 1 year after leaving the UK! So glad that I found this forum. Next step is a donation.....seeing as I have my debit card out! Turning into an expensive evening. Lol.
  13. Hi there, Have checked for CCJs.....and there are 2 for my husband. 1 for 6,273 and another for 3,865 GBP. It doesn´t say for who though? Just his name, court name, case no, amount and date, which by the way are 17/05/05 and 04/01/05. How do I find out which creditors they are from please? Shall I do the same thing for myself too? Thanks so much for your help.
  14. Thank you so much for super quick replies. Would checking as to whether or not we have CCJs against us be as beneficial as trying to obtain an Experian Report (or equivalent)? I´ll check for the CCJs anyway though. Kind regards.
  15. Wow! That was quick! I tried to do an experian check, but as I don´t have a UK address and haven´t had one for nearly 6 years I couldn´t get a report. Is there a way of obtaining one without UK address? I did put in our previous address in the UK.......without any joy.:?
