finally got copy statements for 2001/2003 a computer list of phonecalls and letters sent, thats all .written back to them telling them they are quite short with the information sent.In this short period there are charges amounting to £1650,21 of this there are 21 charges of £32.00 in fees for the final month.there are pleanty of other things wrong as well, £1500 in duplicate payments,The account is with a dca at the present. If I try to recover these charges can they pull the account back from the dca and start charging interest again.

I was paying £100 pm,by phone with debit card, just found out they took double each time, fool for not checking my statements, everything now done by post,

Hi just a little snippet about mercers,I just received my old bank statements from abbey, for 01 to 04 I never really looked at statements just the bottom line, well looking at these it seems I was making monthley payments to these edits because looking at the statements it says VP which is a debit payment by card well it seems every time I made a payment by card on the phone they would take two,if it was £100 there is two withdrawals so they got £200 this as just come to light.I was so trusting but not anymore dont believe a word they say.

I have just had a similar letter today, asking to make a payment plan but I am on benefits and have been paying a nominal monthly ammount.I am not sure what else I can do.

You have replied to previous dca and lloyds,I personnally would not offer the information in your letter.and would ignore this lastest letter, and wait, you can always send an account in dispute letter if the new dca actually get heavy,DCAs send these type of letter as a scare tatic it is they who have tp prove to the court that the agreement tooks place,I have had a debt passed to 8 different DCAs.
-
they should only supply a recon if they actually have the original, and they are breaking the law if they intimate they have the original when they dont,The dca will quite often try this tack into getting people to accept the debt. You could ask them why if they have the original they cant just photocopy it and send it to you.I my self would wait for their next communication though.

thanks for the advice and i will send a letter today.

this is a previous dca who havn`t credited the payments,so the new dca is actually hounding me for the wrong amout.

just heard back from the post office regarding postal orders, although the postal orders were crossed and made payable to a dca,the post office will only confirm tthat they has been cashed but not by whome,so the dca can say he has not received them, the only way to get proof is if you can get the police or courts involved,so I will not be making anymore postal order payments.

I knew I owed them something whenI received there letter several years ago and never questioned the ammount or charges have been paying small monthly payments since.I found this site and asked for cca, which eventually arrived and the first page seems to be right and proper but second seems a little different, the statement shows an 18 month gap in payments I sent, this was queried to oc and the two dca but none of them will accept they have had the money although the post office confirms theyved been cashed but wont confirm to who.I will SAR the oc to see if this throws anything up.
