  1. Hi everyone, thought i would give you an update on how things are going. The appeal application has now been sent but have been told by the money advice that it probably wont get heard until June, she said we will get a date in on about a fortnight time. We recieved a copy of all the information that the Doctor who assesed my husband, which was also sent to the adjuticater and when i read over it it made me so angry of the lies he put on it saying he looked very tanned,Giving the fact he belongs to a dark skinned family and with his ilness this has made him look more so this way and also the assesment was in the middle of December, i feel so infuriated with these very asuming remarks, how can anyone who does not take the time of day to get to know anything about you make these assumptions? I wish there was some kind of lawyer who would deal with this as i would ask them to take them on. This is only one of the opinions he gave there's more, i feel this is very offensive and upsetting. Has anyone else experienced anything simalar to this?
  2. Thanks for this advice although it all sounds so complicated the wefare rights lady did not tell us any of this she just mentioned it in the conversation briefly. So do you advise him to apply for ESA just now in the meantime or could this affect his appeal for IB? I am sorry but i dont think this is sinking in with me i dont know anything about benefits whatsoever and this is the first we have had to deal with anything like this. i have been reading a little more on this but its going over my head most of it.
  3. Hi There Everyone, I Have Been To See Money Advice With My Husband As He Decided To Go For An Appeal. This Lady Offered Advice I Had Already Recieved From Your Posts, She Was Explaining That People On Ib Have Been Getting Shunted Off For A Long Time Now And This Is Nothing That She Does Not Deal With Everyday. She Also Explained In Small Detail That If He Does Not Get Ib He Will Be Entitled To Something Called Esa Which Confused Me A Bit But She Said She Would Cover That If The Appeal For Ib Was Refused. So We Have Now Recieved A Letter Saying They Looked At My Husbands Claim Again But Did Not Change Their Origanal Decision And Will Now Go To An Adjudicating Officer To Look At, So What Should We Expect Next On This Matter And Can Anyone Tell Me How Long This Whole Ordeal Can Take. I Do Appreciate All The Information And Support You Have All Given. Thanks Mary
  4. Thanks guys, all this information and support this has given me the confidance to challenge this, i just hope my husband can feel the same. It does drag you down and this is something that i feel very angry about. I know i did a bit of a rant on my origanal post but why do they have to make people feel as though they are begging for this. If the majority of people had the choice they would not even apply for these benefits. My husband clearly can not work with his problems so what does he do? does he just not exist for the rest of his life, he is trying to tackle his problem but this has just knocked him back about a thousand steps and makes him have no trust in our system. I just hope there is someone out there with a bit of heart who will understand his problem and help him get a life back i am not just meaning about the financial side of it i mean the support and people not to kick you when you are down because if this is how i feel and i keep thinking what does he really feel when he is the one with the probelm. Once again you have no idea how much this helps to hear others give their opinions because when you go through these things you think you are the only one but clearly this is not the case and this helps to understand it a bit better. Thanks Mary
  5. Thank you for your support and understanding i will let you all know what happens as it goes along. As i am new to here it is taking me a while to find my way about please be patient.
  6. Hi. I wondering if anyone can give me any advice or information on an incapacity benefit matter. My husband was on incapacity for 8 years and has now been told he is not entitled to this. He has had various health problems over the years which all started with kidney failure, he was on dyalasis for 3 years he then got a kidney given to him from his brother which was a life saver and has gave him some normality back. He is diabetic and also suffers with bad deppression which has got worse over the past year. He can not read or write either which adds to his deppression because he does not have the confidance to deal with people in general apart from myself and kids. He attended a medical to which i attended with him as i have to go all appointments that he has, i.e doctors or anyone in any kind of authority as this frightens him and also he does not have the memory to relay anything they say to him he gets very confused when asked anything. So when we attended his medical for his incapacity benefit i had said to the doctor about his problem and he just stopped me of what i was saying and continued to ask my husband questions and every time i tried to say anything he cut me off with sheer ignorance, this made us both feel very intimadated. I have got to say i have never had anyone make me feel like this before in my life and i do have general confidance so you can imagine how my husband felt. So now we have been to see a lady from welfare rights(money advice) she has said to appeal but my husband is terrified incase he has to attend another meeting of any kind regarding this. Also we dont get any other benefits as i work full time and my husband gets a small pension, we pay full rent and council tax.
