Hello Back in January I asked a question about a debt with Tiscali that I was being chased for by Fredrickson International. I was advised to send Talk Talk a Subject Access Request, and I did this on the 11th January 2010. I did not hear anything from Talk Talk, until a fortnight later when they sent me a letter informing me they were removing their service off my phone line. I did not have their services on my phone line, and as I didn't have an account number, no one at Talk Talk customer services knew what to do with me. In this time I also received a letter off Freds, saying they would not pursue the debt until they had heard from Talk Talk. I left it a while, expecting them to send me my documents and things, after paying the the fee of £10 with the SAR, and they haven't sent anything to me. I then received a letter off Bryan Carter, who I know share an office space with Fredrickson International, informing me I now owe Talk Talk the money. They have changed the payment reference number from a tiscali one to a talk talk one. Are they allowed to do this, as I still haven't had my documents and things from the SAR I sent Talk Talk regarding my old Tiscali account. What should I do next? They are saying I now owe £1,400+ and they will be adding another £150 onto the debt as administration charges. Should I just let them take me to court? Any advice is greatly appreciated!

Can I just confirm - is this address Talk Talk's? Will I get the information off them? Thanks. Want to send it 1st thing tomorrow you see.

I also left Tiscali, but just last year, and they want £1338.80 off me. I am sending a subject access request to Tiscali 1st thing tomorrow, and have used the letter teemplate up there and will send it to both of Freds addresses tomorrow. They're a joke. I have read loads about both Tiscali and Fredricksons being ridiculous.

The guy on the phone said that Tiscali was a VERY (he emphasised that word) active client of theirs, and he was sure that Tiscali would be able to proove to me how seriously they took unpaid bills. He also asked me what made me any different to all the other people that called and said they don't owe money, and that they are all now paying off their debts after complaining they didn't owe money. Thanks for all the info. I am sending the SAR 1st thing Monday morning to Tiscali, and then I will wait and see what else happens.

It says "This debt must be paid in full to these offices within the next 7 days otherwise we will take immediate action". The guy I spoke to on the phone told me that Freds do NOT purchase debts, and I told him not to be daft, and of course they did as this was the second DCA to get in touch with me regarding this account, but the first one was before an extra £1100 had been added to the account. Will I just wait and see what happens and what I get off Tiscali then? Sorry I am waffling on, but just want to be 100% clear on my course of action!

Will I need to send a letter to Freds though, explaining I hjave sent a SAR to Tiscali, as I am just worried they'll keep on harrassing me. I have not given them a phone number, so they cannot by phone, but I am worried they'll send baliffs to the house, and I am 7 months pregnant, and really cannot be bothered with them! The letter dated the 4th from Freds say that I have 7 days from that date to pay otherwise they'll proceed with court action, so I was thinking maybe if I send them a quick note too, outlining what I have done they will maybe extend the date for court action, if that makes sense? As Tiscali are no longer their own company, and part of Talk Talk, how do I go about finding an address where this will be signed for and dealt with? Would I need to send a copy to Fredricksons? Could they deal with the request on my behalf? Thanks

Hi Back in 2007 I signed up with Tiscali for home phone and broadband. They began saying that I owed them money, which I was contesting as I was paying the bills online. However, I was sent a letter from a DCA asking me to pay them £290. I said I would not pay them, as my account with Tiscali was still active, and because I was constantly on the phone with Tiscali regarding the matter, and they went away. Last year, early 2009, I cancelled the contract with Tiscali, after my contract was up with them, oweing no money. I then got a letter from Tiscali stating I owed them £900. I began calling them again and they said that between me cancelling the phoneline, until July I had ran up that bill. Now, call me crazy, but if I cancelled the phoneline and no longer had their service to my house, how could I have ran up that bill? I argued with many different people on the phone about it, until I got to one guy who said the matter would be sorted out. Then all was quiet. Just before Christmas 2009 I received a letter from a company called Fredrickson International Limited stating I owed Tiscali £1338.80. I had never heard of them and began doing research, and ended up seeing some of these threads. I sent 2 letters by registered delivery yesterday to both their PO Box, and Chandos Street addresses asking for the all the details of the charges and so on, as I have had a phoneline with another provider since Aug 2009, and haven't used Tiscali for almost a year, and also for a copy of the signed agreement between Tiscali and myself for the services they've provided. I then received another letter, also yesterday dated from the 4th January saying I had 7 days to pay the debt in full, otherwise they'd start legal proceedings, so I called them this morning. The young man I spoke to on the phone said that even without the credit agreement the debt was still enforcable and I would have to pay it. I don't know what to do, as my tiscali email address with all the receipts of payment has gone, and I cannot prove I paid these debts at all. There is a problem with the card account holder and I cannot ask them for statements. Any ideas on how I can proceed as I know lots of people say it, but I really cannot owe Tiscali this money as I didn't have a phoneline with them during the time they are charging me for. Thanks
