  1. Ask for a copy of your latest contract. I beleive they would have to supply it if required. At least then you know where you stand. All the best with your business if you do go ahead with it.
  2. It does. But they've done worse to others with more service...
  3. That's kind of what I figured also - but again I'm far from an expert... My current plan is to speak to my employer and make the most out of the fact that HR have proved themselves to be incompetent and they have moved me without proper consultation. I don't think I have a leg to stand on if I want to keep the car (which I don't really) but I would like to be compensated for the fact that I now need to find the money to purchase and run a car. Hardly the end of the world I know...
  4. Moving position. At least no one has told me otherwise...
  5. Speak to your boss and tell him you will chack for messages on your phone twice a day at a convienient time and repsond to any urgent issues. They should accept this situation. It seems (to me) to be a better solution than taking any legal action. Annual leave is your time not the company's. What would they do if you were not able to answer the phone for whatever reason??? You could point out to your boss that any sensible employer would ensure that there was sufficient cover to allow the company to operate and service it's customer now matter who was on leave. You may want to put this forward in a tactful manner... Apologies the slight rambling nature of this. Haf
  6. I've had a campany car for about the last 11 years. My original employer considered the the car to be part of the compensation package and my contract stated that I was entitiled to a company car. This company was taken over about 4 years ago. The company I now work for does not consider the car to be part of the compensation package but a tool of the job - and the contract states this. Before Christmas we were told that our department was losing positions and I was basically told that I should apply for a different job within the company. I had no problem doing this but the new position is office based and I would not be able to keep the car. We were told that there would be 2 head to head consultations with HR as well as interviews for the positions we would apply for. The first consultation took place before Christmas I informed HR I would be applying for the new job but I would need some assurances about being comopensated for the loss of the car first. I also went to the interviews for the new role and was told (unofficially) that I would be getting the job and it would be confirmed after the 2nd head to heads took place. I returned from leave after Christmas (Jan 4th) to be told I was starting my new job that day. I've not had my 2nd head to head and have not yet received any contact from HR offering me the job - despite being told twice a letter had been sent the previous night... My new boss has informed me that I will be losing the car in 3 months time and my pay will not change to compensate for the loss. Anybody got any advice on where I stand if I go back to the company asking to have my pay adjusted to compensate for the loss of the car? My take has always been it was part of my package and didn't realise this not the case at the new company until I looked into it. Needless to say I don't think our HR department are upto answering the question... Thanks Haf
