  1. Hey all! It's been well over the 40 days now, and i haven't even recieved ANYTHING! I've been to the information comissioners website, but their electronic form thingy is broken.
  2. I would have tried that, but again there would have been no proof of them recieving it / cashing it in (as far as I'm aware - I searched the post office website for like half an hour!) - Still not heard anything Chris
  3. Sadly I don't have a cheque book, so i sent cash, I'm concerned that they will say they never recieved it, but ho-hum!
  4. I sent the Data Protection Act, Subject Access Request letter from the templates library. I know it's not been 40 days yet... I'm just being impatient! Chris x
  5. yeah, hope they post my 10 quid back! :p
  6. Try.... http://www.consumeractiongroup.co.uk/forum/forumdisplay.php?f=5 especially this part: http://www.consumeractiongroup.co.uk/forum/showthread.php?t=7851
  7. Well.. I think I've read on here someplace that someone totted up their charges online and some of them were missing, so it's probably best to get them all through the data protection act. Also, in most cases HSBC have returned the £10 as far as I know. - It would be worth paying the £10 also, as you can request any notes on wheather or not people have physically been involved in issuing you charges, this info is quite important, as one of the main arguments on illegal charges is that in the majority of cases money is charged for sending out automated letters.... I could be wrong, I've only just starting reading the forum myself, so if anyone else has any info on this would probably be better! Chris
  8. Sorry, I'm new to all of this, so can't really help. Just wanted to wish you luck! Chris
  9. See: http://www.consumeractiongroup.co.uk/forum/showthread.php?t=9807 I've been having the same problems! Chris
  10. Just been to the post office to send HSBC a letter requesting details of the charges I've incurred since my 18th birthday! I'll keep you posted.... Chris
  11. Hey guys, thanks for all of the replies. LKJ... I had the same "what planet are you from?" response from HSBC when I quizzed them about it. The main issue I have is that Solo cards can be issued to people under the age of 18, I'm pretty sure banks wouldn't let an under 18 go into over draft due to solo purchases being delayed because they would be unable to legally claim the money back (as far as i know!). Also, since I joined Natwest in September 04, I've had a Solo card with them and NEVER had the same issue with my Solo Card there, so this seems it really is just an issue with HSBC customers over the age of 18 - which can't be right at all... the same features should be available for a product regardless of the age of the person using it?! - Right?!
  12. Cheers guys, I slipped a tenner in the envelope and sent it recorded delivery! Thanks for your help - I'm sure I'll be back for more soon! Chris
  13. Hi guys, not noticed this question on the forum, but sorry if i've missed it. What is the best way to pay the £10 DPA fee? Sadly I don't have a cheque book, and I doubt they will take it out of my account (as it is over the over draft limit). Also could the fact the maximum fee for having the bank find, print and send all data they hold on us being £10 add to the weight that charges / fee's for banks posting an automated letter are excessive? - if so how could it be successfully used in an argument?! Cheers Chris
  14. Checking my balance depresses me too much, it's vary rarely that I get a pleasent surprise through checking my balance! - The small font was to make it seem like I wrote less... And I'm definately going to try to claim back all the charges! thanks for your reply Chris
