  1. Quote "and a subsequent amended defence was not submitted within a reasonable time before a strike out hearing. the reasons for this are complicated, and involve the banning of a former member" You can say what you want Tomterm, but it doesn’t change the facts, you WERE levelling unfounded criticisms at Laiste, and you weren’t in the slightest bit subtle about it, you then proceeded to back-peddle for England, in a bid to retract your comments and failed gloriously! Don’t flatter yourself, or insult my intelligence that you have clarified anything in respect of the remarks you made. You deliberately made comments that insinuated that the reason Rich lost his case was because of Laiste. Furthermore, you were intentionally vague about how this apparently happened, by stating the reasons were “complicated”, how very convenient! You clearly didn’t want to bother us lesser mortals on here, with the actual details, and I have to say, I can see the difficulty you would have faced in attempting to help us all understand just how exactly Laiste’s banning had anything at all to do with the Judgment obtained against Rich! However, it is clear from your comments that you either believe and/or have evidence to substantiate what you are saying, and I am very interested to know what correlation there is between Laiste’s banning and Rich’s Judgment. So, why don’t you explain to me in as much detail as is required, just what exactly the connection between the two are. I look forward to reading your explanation and I give you my word that I will try to keep my apparent dyslexia and inability to understand under control…..I tell you what, we will come back to your vile, disgusting and libellous remarks made at lunchtime, a little later! Oh, did you think I hadn’t seen the post? Well fortunately for you, I read every single word….before you deleted, or were instructed to delete, all evidence of the message! Luckily, I have a copy of the post, which will be helpful when I take advice in respect of the site's and your personal liability for the remarks. Looking forward to hearing from you! MDTD.
  2. I just been reading the threads and its clear to me that you are criticising Laiste and I can only say from past experience that Laiste has been a God send to me. Her advice, freely given has cleared a very large amount of my debt and when I next have to go to court, I know she will be in my corner, if nothing else she gives me the bottle to fight, instead of just rolling over. It is a great pity that her advice is no longer available to everyone on this site. MONEYDOWNTHEDRAIN
  3. Whilst the people that run this site have been busy banning the single most helpful, informative, sympathetic, legally knowledgeable person there was on here, I just want to tell people what Laiste has done for me! She has got rid of £48000 worth of debt for me and my husband that we've been taken to Court over (so far) and helped us get compensation as well. We would have been made bankrupt had it not been for Laiste, as we had no money and no options! Laiste has helped us in her own time and fought the cases all the way, she is absolutely amazing! There is only one Laiste and that's why people are angry about her being banned, she can't be replaced, despite silly comments that the site goes on! It won't, because people like Laiste are one of a kind, nobody can copy what she does and it's highly unlikely that someone with her originality and ways of sorting problems out will appear ever again. She wins cases because she approaches situations from a slighly left field position, that throws creditors. You should see her at work and I have been fortunate to, because I was in ill-health and couldn't present my cases. She frightens solicitors and barristers, and charms Judges! She's one formidable woman, but when you're taking on the banks, you need someone who knows how to deal with them and she definitely does! She might be irascible as someone else has commented, but she knows what she's talking about, and I couldn't have chosen anyone better to help me. I am really upset that people are going to miss out on Laiste's truly valuable help and advice, the site will be very much missing a right arm without her. The only people that are going to suffer are the ones like me who know sod all about the law, until Laiste came along to explain it all in layman's terms and gave much needed support! The site is absolutely going to regret it's decision to ban Laiste, that's obvious from the backlash so far. If that isn't so, let me know when someone of Laiste's calibre joins, if ever ....!!! It's a bad decision in all respects and time for those in their ivory towers to accept that! However uncomfortable! MONEYDOWNTHEDRAIN

  5. Happy New Year to everyone - just a little reminder - its not so funny when they wipe your new account credit balance out. It happened to me, I was told by CAB to open a new account which I did, I move my salary and direct debits. This account was in credit and when Natwest closed the originial account, they moved the funds to off set the debt. I was left with no money and the direct debits cancelled and unpaid. Which left me in up to the neck in it! CAB forgot to mention the new parachute had to be with another bank. I did complain to Nat West and was told 'oh so Politely' they were within their rights. BIG DEAL I was left skint and its taken months to get back on my feet. moneydownthedrain
  6. Hi everyone, How right you are, sent my SAR on the 28th Sept, they only sent a list of late charges today, the same as the above, plus a good will gesture of approx half the charges. These 'B's' added over £1000 interest to our accounts, when we want on to a payment plan, and there as been no mention of that. So the best of luck to everyone, I'll keep you informed. 7. Hi, I picked this up from another thread but it might help with the phone calls tell them they are in breach of the Wireless Telegraphy Act 1949. It worked for me. When the phone calls started at work, I put on my telephone voice and very politely informed the this was my place of employment and if the wished to speak to me regarding my private business, they should contact me at home. I never received any more. Mind, I was dealing with MBNA and not the India bunch. Good luck Moneydownthedrain

  12. I'm on a (unofficial) payment plan with MBNA (which is paid monthly) and they have just offered me a settlement figure of £3300 on a 7 grand debt, approx 40%, to which I told them, yes! that is great but unfortuately I dont have 3300 pence, never mind 3 and a half grand and if I had, the debt would have been paid and I wouldn't have to listen to all their crap... To which she replied 'could I not borrow it from family or friends' My God they make me sick. Moneydownthe drain

  15. Hi Phil, Just 4 days on and I have received my copy of agreements from Steve Bailey, time to rethink my approach. MBNA must be getting their act together. Moneydownthedrain:x
