  1. Hi All, its been a while - jsut looking for pointers and opinions: I have a £235 CCJ settled dated july 2009 - coming to its 6 year in July 2015 - it should drop off automatically right? what if both the credit ref agencies stall? what pressure can i put on them? Also this CCJ was tied to a defalut as well - again dated 21 July 2009 - and set to drop off on the 21th of July 2015 Aside from that teh credit report is clean with good track record (Aside from this blip) of card payments and other loans plus all my utilities are via direct debit, i know credit scored dont really matter as there no such thing as a score but on experian when i login the so called score is 926 or in the green for good - and it says that i'm 72 points away from an excellent score. i'd like to just make sure that on the 22nd of July i can reach the reference angencies and get them act on this. Cheers Red PS keep up the good work guys - as always this site is the best for help assist.
  2. Hi CitizeB, thanks for the link, i'm 100% sure that the debt are stature barred, i've seen them both drop off my credit files over time on both the credit ref agencies. Cheers Red
  3. Hi Stig - thanks for the reply, no letters just 2 phone calls one was on my land line at work and the other they called via a mobile to my mobile.the debt in question is way past 7 years old. so i'm not sure. Also when they rang on the land line they left one of those automated voice recording on the mobile they did not leave any messages.Cheers
  4. Hi All, its been a while - since a recent update on the electoral roll, from nowhere Lowell have appeared chasing old debts that are stature barred. Yet these happy chappies are calling me at work and also via a mobile. .i checked both my credit reports on Equifax and Expedia.. and there's only one default of an old debt which is unrelated. Any advise guys is much appreaciated.
  5. Evening All, a two fold question that's been bothering me a little Equifax Mortgage account in opened in August 2007 then in Jan 2009 I fell behind with payments due to personal reasons. The question is: 2009 & the majority of 2010 the account was in default I had an arrangement in place but still I was being hit with a default every month, In Nov 2010, I cleared the arrears and it also coincided with the mortgage being sold off to an other company. point in case, after paying the arrears the account shows "settled" but all those lovely defaults are still visible. As the account is showing settled - does the past or historical data play a part when being reviewed for credit? if so when does stuff in "settled" mode drops off the file if at all? can anything be done to push the credit ref agency to remove it? Experian. there's a double entry in my file regarding V12 finance - on the 20/07/2009 - settled of course TBI Financial on the 20/07/2009 - Settle of course But here are the differences (because I challenged Experian on these) and they rejected my explanation even if clearly they are the same debt just logged by two companies V12 - is classed as Loan TBI - classed as Credit card/Store card in actual fact they are both wrong as it was a faulty electrical appliance. challenged Experian and they rejected my explanation by saying that they are two different companies and two debts, they are not! how can I attack this and make them change this? is at all possible. Must add that both agencies they are happy to slap on any old rubbish but when you challenge things they try to tie you up in futile red tape! Any feedback help as always appreciated Red
  6. thanks Brig, will send it at some point today. Thanks again.. Red
  7. Hi Brig, thanks for the feedback, is there a template that I can use to reach the data controller at v12 and ask formally to have the entry removed
  8. morning all, over the past year or so I've taken steps to address the issues on my credit file, all is on course, with one default dropping off at the end of this month and a settle CCJ that will drop off at the start of 2015. the question is; Experian has the CCJ (settled) by the two companies V12 finance and TBI (laptop repair) now according to Equifax only one record is kept and it points to TBI financial. Same for call credit. I question Experian and asked since the default dates are the same and above all its settled one entry should be removed. they refused point blank saying that It will stay and above has an impact on my credit file/score we know that there is no such thing as a credit score but certainly on the viability of obtaining credit. can I push Experian to remove this second entry on my file? if so how? cheers Red11
  9. hi dx, yes untangling myself from that whole mess of future mortgage/engage credit, and I have a chance to do so via my bank who have advised in principal that if I settle this CCJ then this would help them to reach a positive decision, I made a fuss since I've been with the current bank for 15 years plus, so I had a very frank exchange with the head of credit at the bank when we discussed the issue. This CCJ is the only blot on my copy book. This is what I plan to do, call them on Monday, pay the 235 quid that are pending ask for an email with confirmation of payment and that debt is settled. and also maybe to send me a letter to that effect. on the same day I want to reach the county court via phone and maybe if they accept I can send via mail or if I have to via recorder deliver all the info and they can send me the certificate that the CCJ. I just want to be in a position of being able to say there tangible evidence that its settled and certificate is on his way now lets press on with the arrangement discussed. hi dx I'm interested to know more about what you said below pls "there might be a reasonable chance here to offer them an F&F or the full amount on the proviso that all evidence of the CCJ is removed from your cra file. its been done before"
  10. Right, I was on the phone to V12, and they have passed on the account to TBI financial, so I need to speak to them to resolve this matter. any views/information on TBI at all?
  11. hi dx, not dealing with future mortgage or engage credit
  12. I've checked but they you have to have an account with them and I don't, but I presume that I exist under their database as a client of some sort. i'll give v12 a call tomorrow as they are open on weekends and if I get no traction i'll call the court on Monday and see what I can get from them. I'll keep this thread updated. Red
  13. hmm, ok so your view would be to confirm that its v12 the plaintiff a nd the write a letter sent via recorded delivery or fed-ex with say a postal order? or a cheque and ask for confirmation that debt is settled?
  14. Hi ims, thanks for the feedback, all i want is to pay the 235, get some sort of a record from them admitting that its now settled, perhaps i can ask for an email receipt where they reference the court case ID. see what I'm after is something that i can present as immediate evidence and then calmly i will got to the court in writing providing the information i have and let them send over the certificate.
  15. Hi ims, thanks for the reply, i agree with your view it might not help but want to get it sorted. but what i would like to do is to shorten the time length rather than write what are your thoughts around me confirming with the courts that it is V12 finance and just get on the phone and pay it? also what can i ask in term of immediate evidence that this has been paid while the slow red tape finally catches up and i receive the certificate from the court. surely there must be a faster way of settling a small-ish bill and just have the evidence that it was paid, while the certificate is on his way, but what I'm concerned about how valid is it as evidence if i pay via the phone a nd get say and email that payment was made and debt settled
  16. Hi citizenB, i hear you, but i just want to get this forgive the expression "monkey" off my back these guys have not chased and as mentioned this related back to 2009 even if it will be there till july 2015, i feel that having it satisfied is a help.
  17. How feasible it is for me to pick the phone up and pay the 235 quid i owe them? but also what should i ask as proof that i can use as evidence on my application for the mortgage
  18. Hi ims, I'm 99% sure it them, but i have the county court ref as well but it does not point to the plaintiff even by searching the actual CCj Data base.
  19. Hi ims, no need for an apology, i prefer straight talking If recollection is right it was V12 finance over a laptop that i bought. I don't think that they pressed for payment - all i can see is the CCJ on my credit file, dated 21/07/2009 I'm not sure why they have not chased the debt to be fair I've been at the same address for the past 6 years, one would think that they would yes i do need to get this satisfied for a mortgage
  20. Hi ims, i don't think i received any paper work from the court it self but i could be wrong as it was around the time that my father passed away and i was in two location, why not act on them? i had other pressing matters to deal with. I have a vague idea about what it could be related to, but I'm 100% sure as to what the company was or if its still around. turn around quickly = paid in full, and satisfied assuming that the plaintiff is still in business, and i want to get this paid, how does it take place? and what if anything in terms of evidence i should ask from them as proof that this is indeed settled?
  21. Hi Guys, need some guidance here, I'm looking to settle a silly CCJ with a value of 235 pounds. it from 2009. It was posted against me via the Northampton court. I have no paper work relating to this, well maybe I had back then but I don't have it any longer. I don't remember when was this posted or by whom. I really want to turn this around quickly, also how does it work do I pay the court? and what if the company that filed the CCJ is no longer in business, after all we are talking about 235 pounds, I thought that CCJ would be issued by debts over 350 pounds. cheers Red
  22. Hi dx, the sheet calculations points to an estimate of £9,200.07
  23. Hi All, finally some success! the good folk at hsbc finally managed to answer back in regards of my PPI claim, but still i'm perplexed, instead of one letter of response i received two on the same day, one dated 2nd of April and the other dated 4th of April. the 1st letter - read, complain is upheld (i was smiling sooo much it made my day!) and we are offering you £2,755.13 to close the matter. The second letter dated teh 4th of April read - complain upheld (again i was smiling) and we are offering you £7,000 to close the matter. as both letters have the same refernce in regards to my personal loan. So the strange thing is the 2 letters one with an offer of almost £3K and the other for £7K - i felt confused, so rather than just accept, i rang the PPI complaint resolution officer, and just very amicably mentioned the two letters and frankly i wanted to know which one of the two offers was actually valid. the chap on the other line puts one on hold, comes back and says "Sir none of the offers that have been sent to you are valid" i was ready to blow a fuse at that point. before i had the chance the hap puts me on hold as he wanted to review something, few seconds later and he goes " actually sir your correct offer is £12,411.01" i was gob-smacked! At that point i just said send everything through the post please - and he said it was sent on the 8th of April to your home address, and indeed on the 11th of April i found the letter with the compensation offer, but it was for £14,100.00 and not £12,411.01. i'm not too sure what to make of all of this, to be fair, should i keep quiet and just grab the 14K? or are HSBC holding back on actual true ammount that i should get back. i mean the size of the loan was 8K and they are raising their compensation offer by the day. look forward to hear your thoughts CheersRed
