  1. hi i posted this on another forum but thought i might get more help on here this is what i originally posted Hi there i need some advice please on some credit card fraud on my card. it happend in october and there about £200.00 of transactions on my card in october from places such as blahdvd and cdwow, always small amounts. i had a phone call from the the credit card and they have said that the IP address on these transactions match the IP address on a transaction that we made with sainsburys online. Both me and the wife dont recognise any of the transactions and havent received any goods either and they have asked me to double check but i know what I spend and none of them are mine. I'm not at the forefront when it comes to computers and I know a IP address belongs to a computer but could it be someone is using my computer via our wireless network, i dont understand how the numbers can be the same. and as of today i've just posted this follow up from egg... definatley not my children, there only 7, 5, 3!! we have only had one item delivered had nothing on any other transactions and this silly data protection act, they cant tell me what was ordered or where it was sent, how silly is that. just an update that left me fuming, i had a phone call from EGG CC (might aswell name them) fraud department saying that they have closed the investigation because they believe the transactions all to be genuine, and the reason they say ths is that that the Same IP address is also on some transactions that we have said are ok. I mentioned could that be at a internet cafe in london perhaps and he said that two stores, the hut and someone else cant remember now but they had to go via the secure visa second password which they have got. I asked if they have my card details could they have got my pasword and he said you have never changed your password, and i replied that i wasnt asked to and just kept it the same. He said as far as fraud are concerned the matter is closed, he said its not possible for a virus software to be on the computer and then get my password and then use it on another computer (i'm gussing here because i was losing the will to live with all this terminology) but if someone did use a virus there would be another IP address whereas this was the same. (he hasnt even said that IP address was mine to start off with. I'm completely dumbfounded by it all as i dont really know my way around computers i dont feel i can argue my case strongly enough and i 'm no paying for some light fingered (XXXXX) shopping spree on my card, this has been on going for three months and now this. I said we havent had any of the goods delivered here so they must have gone elsewhere and he said that when he checked with the hut and the other shop there was only m home address, i dont know if that has have my home address to start with so it matches my card details, there are so many possibilities i dont know where to start. I suppose have to be thankful that its about £300. Bascially I need to write a letter of complaint to Egg first explaining why i wont be paying for these transactions.
