  1. My car got a "Civil Parking Notice" from these guys in the very early hours of 2nd October. Are these a bunch of "speculative invoicers" mentioned elsewhere on this forum, who have no legal claim to my money? The "ticket" says pay within 14 days and it's £60, pay within 28 days it's £120. Should I ignore it? Has anyone had recent dealings with this company? Thanks in advance
  2. Well it's time for an update, and to thank those on this forum for their advice and support when dealing with the CEL sh*ts. So all of you out there who are in doubt as to whether to pay these parasites or "hold out" and ignore them. Here's a summary of my CEL story/correspondence. Nov 2009 received grey "PARKING CONTRAVENTION ENFORCEMENT NOTICE" from CEL for £150 or £75 is settled within 14 days - IGNORED IT Dec 2009 received pink "PARKING CONTRAVENTION ENFORCEMENT NOTICE NOTICE BEFORE LEGAL ACTION" from CEL for £150 - IGNORED IT Feb 2010 received letter from NEWLYN demanding £238.13 titled " DO NOT IGNORE THIS LETTER" which included the phase "Do not ignore this letter. Further action may be taken at considerable cost to you if the debt is not cleared" - IGNORED IT. Early March 2010 received letter from NEWLYN demanding £238.1 titled " NOTICE PRIOR TO COUNTY COURT PROCEEDINGS" which included the phase "You have failed to pay the above parking ticket, and this may now be registered in the County Court" - IGNORED IT. End of March 2010 received letter from NEWLYN demanding £238.1 titled " NOTICE COURT ACTION" which included the phase "We have no record of recieving your payment despite our previous correspondence and now have no alternative but to pass the file back to our Client, who will then proceed with any necessary action" - IGNORED IT. I have not heard a sausage from them since and the credit rating is just fine, so take the advice offered hear and keep your nerve and ignore these b*stards.
  3. Received a £238.13 "DO NOT IGNORE THIS LETTER" from Newlyn, on behalf of CEL, over the weekend. My wife's getting "a bit anxious", but I'm still ignoring them. Does anyone have experience of how long they go before giving up?
  4. here is the MK TS contact details if anyone wants them. You need to persevere with the website link, but you can get there in the end. I can feel an "Angry from MK" email coming on
  5. Miranda I feel that a "gorilla style" night-time mission to paint the parking area roadway with something like "RIP-OFF PARKING AREA - DON'T PARK HERE" might be in order by all us MK'ers. Question: Is the painting of the "roadway" classed as graffiti? as I wouldn't want to condone anything illegal.
  6. Received the 2nd "bullying" letter from Civil Enforcement Ltd, today, telling me that £150 is now due. It includes statements such as: "NOTICE BEFORE LEGAL ACTION" and..... "YOUR ABILITY TO OBTAIN CREDIT IN THE FUTURE COULD BE AFFECTED" and not forgetting..... "Failure to pay the full amount within seven days of this notice will result in us seeking a County Court Judgement against you. A warrant may then be issued to bailiffs to recover the amounts due, plus court fees, bailiff costs and interest" b*****ds!! Merry Christmas
  7. Yes, like a couple of others here, yesterday my wife received a "Parking Contravention Enforcement Notice" from Civil Enforcement Ltd for parking at the Hub in Milton Keynes for a 25 minute stay 20:29 hrs on 30th October. They have issued a Parking Charge Notice for £150 (amount due within 28 days) or £75 (Reduced amount if paid within 14 days). They say: "failure to pay the amount due within 28 days of the issue date, will result in Civil Enforcement Ltd forwarding your account to a debt recovery agency and you will incur additional costs" So what's the best ting to do; Should she ignore it as said previously here or Send the letter telling them "to contact the driver of the car" Which method has the highest/quickest rate of success to get these bleeding parasites off her back?
