  1. Hi, I've forwarded on the email I sent to the main complains email address on your website, it should have all the contact details there, thanks
  2. Thanks, I got a bit lost looking at the amount of forums I had to choose from!
  3. Not sure if this is the right place as I'm not actually in debt but here goes: Lived in student halls in 2008/2009. They had established a new procedure of paying for all utilities up front for the year which I had duly paid and thought everything was happy. Previously students had had to pay their own bills which didn't go that well so they switched to this new procedure. Due to whatever technical problems, our flat didn't get switched to the halls account, so we were getting bills for the flat for electricity etc we had already paid for. I *stupidly* phoned them to say that they were hassling the wrong people, and even more stupidly gave my name when they asked. They then started sending the bills to me, in my name and I wasn't able to sort it out before I left. Fast forward 2 years and they have somehow got hold of my current address and I now have a bill for nearly £3000. I've contacted the halls and they are going to send me a letter for me to send on to the collectors. However I was wondering is it worth phoning them and attempting to explain the situation, or will it make it worse? Will they accept the letter from the halls and leave me alone? I've emailed Scottish Power and will phone them tomorrow but not sure how helpful they will be (I get the feeling I will go round in circles for a while)
  4. The boyfriend has been off work since July after a motorbike accident (not his fault). He is unable to use his wrist and his job involves lots of typing. At his last meeting with work they said they may have to consider getting rid of him. He has an occupational health assessment soon to discuss what he can and can't do. What are the proper channels they have to go through if they do decide to get rid of him? Is there any advice anyone has? Thanks
  5. right, the insurance issue as I understand it is that although the driver of the car was not insured, the owner and insurer of the car was in the vehicle at the time, not driving, so it is all covered and ok in that respect. regarding the bike, it was taken to a police impound after the crash, as he was carted off to hospital in an ambulance. we went to see what condition it was in and couldn't get it started. so we phoned the RAC who took it to a local garage for us, and its been there ever since (obviously informing insurers etc where it was) we have a solicitor, but everything is just taking ages and im not sure if its the norm or not. for example, we saw a medical expert type person who said he needed to see a psychologist (this was in august), and this won't be sorted out till january at the earliest. and yes our insurance is 3rd party
  6. Hi my boyfriend was in a accident on 1st July, he was knocked off his motorbike by a car who didn't see him. the car driver is failing to accept liability, which is making his insurance+personal injury claim difficult (can't get an interim payment) he is still off work, he has injured both his wrists, knees and ankles (soft tissue damage) which is still very painful and not healed. we are obviously struggling for money (i am a poor student) as his sick pay doesn't cover his rent, let alone anything else. the driver is being prosecuted as she didn't have a license, no insurance and driving without due care and attention (or something along those lines) essentially, is there any way we can get her to hurry up and accept liability? do we have to wait until the case goes to court? is there any way we can get some money/help? I don't really know how these claims work, like timescales and stuff, and the solicitor is a tad slow. the other major problem is that the motorbike has been written off as cat c damaged, and has been at the garage ever since. the garage has been charging storage of £15 a day, which we were never told about. (the mechanic said he thought the insurance would pay it, so he didn't chase us up about it.) apparently the insurance doesn't cover it as its only 3rd party. as we were never informed about these storage costs, do we have a comeback here? we can't afford to pay these charges thanks for any help, please ask if you need anything clarifying
