  1. The final hurdle! Filed the claim at moneyclaim after finding some nice English friends who didn't mind being a postal address. (Quite hard when you mention Bank and Court in one sentence!!) I'm sure I read somewhere on here about sending a schedule of charges to the court with a ref no? Can anyone advise? Had a good trawl through the FAQ but can't see anything. Thanks guys.
  2. Wow they're quick enough to respond to an LBA by recorded delivery. That took less than 36hrs! "As a gesture of goodwill I offered you £xx, which you do not wish to accept" No quite what I'd said in my letter which was "I will accept this as only as partial payment" So I guess it's off to getting court papers. From reading the FAQ can anyone confirm that as I'm based in Scotland I have to claim this back in chunks of £750 or below?
  3. Excellent thanks very much . That's kinda what I was thinking but wanted to be sure. Fingers x'd - that's the final plunge taken!!
  4. Hi. Thanks to following the advice of this forum I've now received a partial settlement offer from the Halifax, but this is substantially below the full claim. Quite a quick turn around as I have not yet sent them my LBA. Can anyone advise if I should combine the LBA with the Rejection of settlement letter or if these 2 letters should remain completely separate?
  5. The same thing hapened to me, re no statements after the 1st acknowledgement letter and so I called the office listed on the letter to say they were about to breach the 40 days allowed. I pointed out that I get my statements online, so there might be a problem somehow with that? Just got the statments today after 2 more phonecalls.... maybe the automated system can't figure where to send them if you don't get regular statments?
  6. OK that's 40 days and still no sign of bank statements to calculate how much I've paid in charges. I called the Halifax last week to ask where the statements were and was (albeit apologetically) that they were very busy dealing with similar requests - so word about this site must be spreading - but I think that 40 days and £10 is long enough for then to produce the requested info... so not terribly impressed. Has anyone experienced anything similar so far?
  7. Halifax have acknowledged my request for charges; they said they'd send duplicate statements for the requested period through to me under seperate cover. No joy on the "manual intervention" request tho - they said that HBOS is under no obligation to provide this info. Calculator is now at the ready for the next mailling from them. Got a feeling I'm going to be adding up some big numbers!!
  8. Update on DPA letter, still haven't heard anything but Post Office confirm it was signed for on 08/06/06
  9. Thanks a lot for best wishes guys I'll keep any progress updated on my claim in this thread. Currently reading up on the Scottish procedure....
  10. Hello everyone. 1st post. What a fantastic site!! I've been reading it constantly for the past few days.... I've no idea what my charges are with the Halifax for the past 5 years, living in Scotland, (but it's more than I can afford! ...Still small enough to be a small claim tho!) So have taken the 1st step and sent my DPA letter today. Finger's x'd....
