  1. Hi, Sorry I wasn't clear. The property was advertised the day before I went to view it. I was then told that many people had viewed the property the same day I went to view it, but I was the only one that had put the offer on it. They said that now that I have put the offer on the property they will advertise in the paper for 7 days as a public notice saying it was an 'under offer'. By doing this it allows people to make a higher offer then the one I have made. But my understanding is that they are advertising it as nobody has made an offer and I wanted to know if they can still do that as they have told me something different?
  2. I was wondering if someone can help me with the following. I am a first time buyer with a really limited budget and I found a property which turned out to be a repossession. I made an offer which matched the asking price with the estate agents selling it shortly after I viewed the property last Sat.. I was invited to meet with the Estate Agents the following day and I was told to bring a bank statement confirming that I have the deposits available and to provide my solicitors details the following day, which I did. I was then informed that the bank selling the property will be informed of my offer and that my offer will published as public notice in the local paper for 7 days. I noticed that in my local paper yesterday that the property has been advertised for sale. It appears that no public notice has been made. I was also called by the Estate Agents yesterday that someone had made an offer for the same price as me and that they were inviting both us to raise the bid. I haven’t yet done so, but I am quite concerned as it appears that the property has not been published in the paper yet stating that an offer has been made. I wanted to know if I have any rights as to asking my estate agents if they will do this as this is what they promised? Furthermore, I have had calls prior to that with the estate agents trying to get me to speak to their Mortgage Advisor to set up a mortgage. I have told that I have already had one set up independently with a bank and that I did that some time ago. They have advised me that I wouldn’t have to pay for Surveyor fees. I personally think that it will be unwise for me to change this as it would mean I would have to pay higher interest rate, and I think that paying the surveyors fees is a small price to pay in comparison. I am well aware that by law Estate Agents have to advertise the offer I have made for the property for a period of 7 days, but it appears that this has not done that. I would like to know if there is anything I can do as it appears they will like to keep the property advertised for quite a few weeks to try and get as many customers to place an offer. I was originally the only person that placed an offer last week. I look forward to your suggestions
