  1. If it was a Ltd company and they have ceased trading, forget all about them. Doesn't matter if it is the same man or not. Your contract was with a Ltd company which in law is treated as an individual itself. Asuming that is the case, contact a reputable window company who should be able to removed the sealed units only and relplace them. Not the whole window, just the sealed units. TIP: When checking out the new company, go to www.companieshouse.gov.uk and look them up. See when they were incorporated. The older the better in my view.
  2. Tell this dipsh!t to bugger off or YOU will take HIM to the police! Numpty timewasting sad case that ought to get out a little more. Don't reply to any more of his nonsense. If he turns up, break every bone in his miserable face with a large shovel with the word TAWT on it, so that when his stupid face mends he can look in the mirror and see the word T W A T on his forehead. Or is it just me that thinks this?
  3. Oh dear. Well, it looks like they are not giving a little here. You will have to name the driver.
  4. Have you actuially been sent a NIP yet? What makes you think they got you? If you went passed a camera van at 36mph, you may well get away with it as your own speedo reads high anyway. At 36mph on your speedo, you are probably doing between 31 and 34mph. It is not usually in their interest to go after anyone doing less than 35mph actual speed.
  5. He didn't get a fine at all - he got scammed. Tell Grandad that the next time he gets a parking ticket in suspermarket car park, to completely ignore it.
  6. Instead of asking us, why not ask your wife?
  7. Yep. I find that highly offensive too. 'my freinds are thieves, so that means everyone else is too'. Shallow opinion of all car dealers.
  8. On the parking attendants machine will be various drop down menus. My guess is that 'Pay and display' is the next one to 'pedestrian crossing' and they simply entered the wrong one. The fact that you were not parked in a pay and display should be sufficient grounds to appeal that the alleged offence did not occur. If I park right across a zebra crossing in the high street and get a ticket for parking right across a zebra crossing in high road, the ticket is invalid. Yes I did park illegally, but not there!
  9. They normally send you a form, but you can just send a letter something like this: Dear Insurance company I, [Name] hereby declare that I am no longer in possession of the insurance certificate as I shredded it. Yours Faithfully [sign and priont name]
  10. 15:00:01 to 15:00:59 are both 15:00. So, up to 59 seconds could have elapsed. Oh, and I would delet3 the attachment and repost it once you have editied out your pesonal details. It is possible for me or anyone else to reply and tell them what to do with their parking ticket. Woudldn't help your appeal.
  11. It could have been Steve Wright on one of his Radio 2 wind ups, or even Richard Cranium - the master of all ticketing companies. More likely than not it was just a tosser with no life who wants you to pay for his next industrial sized baby wipe packet whilst he sits watching the recordings of last nights Television X. Nextr time Miss Graham Sandra White calls, tell him/her/it to go and get the snip done by a vet and then foxtrot oscar. Or is it just me thinking that way?
  12. Can you not see that by declaring its value on a legal documnet - ie the booking online form - at £50, you have yourself valued it at that. Whether it is worth more or not is now ikrrelevant as you yourself have declared its value at £50 and thus all you will be entitled to is just that. By luck you happened to insure it for that too, which was rather fortunate, so you can at least claim back the £50. Don't get me wrong. I completely understand why you did it. Many would do the same. Personally, I would be tracing the route the parcel took and go and get it. I have done this several times with citylink and Parcelforce. One time ringing a shop in Bristol next door to where my parcel had been wrongly delivered and asking if they would mind popping round and asking the lady for her number. This was the number that Parcelforce couldn't get. I rang her and arranged for my parcel to be collected and returned to me. I cannot see how it would be feasible to lose and entire car engine. It will be sat at the back of a depot under a sheet. I hope you do get it sorted.
  13. Was the sump plug leaking before they did the oil change? No? they damaged it. Tell them to replace the sumnp at their cost and refund you the chareg for the bodge that a) wasn't your fault and b) wasn't done correctly. If they do not wish to pay then take them to court. Did you see a line of horses outside? Most cowboys don't use them anymore, but some do.
  14. Interesting thread this. If I can tag on..... I have just been given a flat in Scotland by my parents (both very much alive). It is old and worth around £30k. I do not own my current house, renting privately. My intention is to leave the flat empty until prices pick up and then sell. Perhaps a year or two down the line. Is there anything other than waiting for ROS to update me as the owner and letting that local authority know I am paying the council tax that I should do? Where do I stand on tax for this?
  15. When you lease a property that has a parking space attached to it and the lease specifies so, you have usually got 'exclusive right to use' of that space. They cannot prevent you from allowing someone else to park in the space as it is effectively yours for the duration of that lease and cannot be retrospectively changed unless both parties agree. If you choose to let a neighbour use it that is your decision. If you choose to never use it and also never allow anyone else to use it, that is up to you too. The management company cannot interfere with your right to enjoy your lease. They may well wish to clamp the whole car park, but unfortunately for them you have use of part of it. Unless you agree to them clamping in your space, they cannot do so. If they do they have committed an offence.
  16. Didn't get your £300 compensation yet then? I didn't think so. When you booked this item through interparcel, why did you say the item was worth £50?
  17. Mr Woo used to own a laundry. I am sad to see that the business was a flop. Apparently he shouted 'what a hope' as he chewed a bar of soap. I kid you not!!!!! This was in the news not long ago. He ended up cleaning windows. In fact here is the news item:
  18. (Read this in the voice of Jeremey Clarkson) Some people say: Paypal are the biggest bunch of bankers you will ever deal with. The people running it should be sent to Afganistan naked with 'Anti Taliban' messages tattood on their backs and forced to run through minefileds whilst dribbling a medicine ball and balancing a tacticle nuclear missile on their heads. They should then be taken to Burger King and put through their flame machine before having a chainsaw enema follwed by a pint of broken glass and rusty nails to drink. Then and only then should they be thrown from the top of Canary wharf whilst Zulu warriors throw spears from every floor as they plummet to the razor wire'd tamploine below so they can get severely cut before being hurled back for a second dose. I have no partricular opinion myself of course. Rearrange the follwoing letters to make an interesting and popular phrase: PalPay are sreknaw
  19. Oh I agree that the class of vehicle has no bearing the alleged offence. I am just point that out as the OP mentioned it was a comercial vehicle in his post and it clearly isn't. I may well be wrong and don't mind if I am, but my understanding of kerb markings like yellow lines AND zig zags is that they apply to the road AND the verge AND the footpath. If that isn't the case then as stupid as another member points out it is (or not), the alleged offence did not occur. A different offence of obstruction or parking on a footpath did, but that is not what the alleged offence is. It does very much swing on whether the zig zag restrictions do or can be applied to the footpath. my understanding is they do.
  20. By parking where you did you have restricted the view of the crossing for both drivers to see waiting pedestrians and for pedestrians to see traffic. I do sympathise with you plight for loading/unloading. However, your Renault Megane is NOT a commercial vehicle. You may well be using it for commercial purposes, but that does not make it a commercial vehicle by definition. As far as I can see, the fine is absolutely correct. The zig zag area is exactly the same a yellow line areas and applies to the length of the road marked and from the crown to the edge of the carriageway including verges and public pavements.
  21. Without getting dragged into your rant I will address my points and yours so that we are clear. You left an 8 year old child alone in a public car park. That is a fact. You parked in a selfish way, you state your reasons why which are selfish (I am not disagreeing with your motifs regarding protetcting your car). You are concerned that a parking attendant photographed your child. I do not need to know you or your family to make a logical conclusion that you did indeed leave an 8 year old car alone in a locked car in a public car park. That is nothing short of inept. As it was indeed a public car park (or B&Q etc) you have no grounds for complaint about anyone photographing your car or your child who happened to be in it. Had they made inappropriate suggestions or threatened your child then you would, but simply photographing it no. The 'ticket' has no weight in law and can be ignored, so you do not need to worry about paying it. You have obviously not been happy with my reply and nor would I be. I was trying to shock you into realising the potential gravity of what you did, albeit it in complete innocence. Just for your information, I am neither spotty or a teenager. I do however speak my mind and am not afraid to put in words that may upset if they have the desired effect. Clearly these did. I do apologise for offending you. I am sure you are a decent person who just made an unintentional mistake. But please, don't leave your children in your car. There have been many cases of cars stolen with children inside. I do not want anything bad to happen to anyones children, including yours. I can assure you my intentions to give you a wake up call were well meant and I hope you now realise that - even if my choice of wording was perhaps a little too strong. Ignore the parking penalty, look after your kids and enjoy life.
  22. You left an 8 year old child locked in the car, which was parked away from the store? Are you completely retarded? What if someone stole the car/ drove into the car or the car caught fire? What if, instead of the nice traffic warden impersonator, a paedophile approached the car? This is the one occasion where I will say GOOD! Serves you right! Selfish, thoughtless and irresponsible. I bet you don't take two spaces in a pay& display because you would have to buy two tickets. What are you driving, a gold plated Bentley? Grrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrr:-x And YOU are the one who put your child in danger, nobody else. AND they can photograph your child in public.
  23. Good. Caution though, don't be surprised when they file to have the judgement struck oit on the basis they did not receive the summons. This is why I alwyas use an official process server.
