  1. Just a thought, but have you taken advice as to your options from shelter ?
  2. Noah. You have not been on topic. You have first stated that the DWP ignore fraud as you know of this case.. I then asked you to explain more so I might be able to tell you why you perceive nothing apparently happened. I will point out that unless a case goes to court then it remains confidential so it's possible something happened & you don't know. There are many reasons why things may not be all they seem. Someone on ESA with permitted work? Benefit not in payment? Not getting the benefit you thought. Or an investigation ongoing. I countered your post telling me that fraud is sometimes committed (thanks for pointing that out) by telling you that I was well aware of this and backing up why I felt my knowledge of this was reliable. I don't think that's boasting repeatedly about experience. As for how good I am at my job, I don't really need to validate myself to you. Not sure what a "sight traker" is? Perhaps you could elaborate.
  3. Just my experience.... that's 20 years investigating fraud. Perhaps we could now go back on topic. The topic being that the o/p has made an allegation of fraud against a contractor. It will be investigated but unless it results in further action the o/p is unlikely to hear anything. Evidence gathering takes time, and this has the potential to be a complex case
  4. Ok... so give us a no names summary of what was going on and how you know nothing happened?
  5. How do you know that they were actually committing fraud or indeed if something happened or not?
  6. It's for the investigator to get evidence to corroborate his statement. It's possible that the o/p would be required to attend court. Or once confronted with other evidence the fraudster may plead guilty.
  7. I beg to differ. What the provider is doing is ripping off the tax payer. In this day & age of austerity and cuts that's even worse: I don't understand what you mean by "I got criminal records on 3 people? This is for the DWP to investigate & they may well ask o/p for a statement. If it's just an isolated case nothing further may happen. The helpline is incorrect. DWP fraud staff investigate such cases. It can take a long time to sift all the information etc. Benefit staff & helpline staff do not have access to fraud systems so would not know what is going on.
  8. It is something dwp fraud do investigate.
  9. With respect you have no idea what anyone you deal with at the DWP's background. You could put a positive spin on entry level jobs- bog afraid to go back to the floor or get your hands dirty. If you are that good you can work your way back up again.
  10. Couldn't agree more.. surely any job is better to get off of benefit. I'm sure the o/p with his background knows that it's easier to find work if you are in work. Besides, two years is a long time - your skills could become outdated
  11. Lol. I think it's ok to sometimes want to say to them to wake up & smell the coffee- you wouldn't be normal if you didn't. A friend of mine is defence solicitor- she says sometimes she could just shake them as they make the same mistake over and over again. But she still does her absolute best for them- and nothing makes her happier when one of them turns their life around.
  12. My son has aspergers. He is very bright & high functioning - his issues with social skills (i.e. reading the subtle subtext) do not amount to SMI. I don't think Autism alone are grounds for smi exemption
  13. Glad you have.... clearly you really care about your clients x
  14. He's being unfair putting you in such a position. You should advise him of the dangers of what he is doing.
  15. He needs to know that he's committing a criminal offence by failing to declare the money. If it comes to light he will find himself. Ring interviewed under caution and possibly going to court. The only way you can help him is stress the above to him. If he won't listen then on his head be it.
  16. Do you mean his housing benefit? What is his other income? He needs to report it now -
  17. Not strictly true. His outgoings are not considered, just his income. The deductions bands are set each year by the government http://www.manchester.gov.uk/info/500180/housing_benefit/4285/adults_non-dependants_who_live_with_you_may_affect_your_housing_benefit_and_council_tax_support/2 As 13k is about £250 a week that deduction would be used . However the final award will take into accoUnt your daughters inc r
  18. Did they say your payment was a non dependant deduction?
  19. Mathew.. my GP relies on my account of how my disability affects my life as much as they would with MH issues. anxiety can be totally disabling- it can have physical symptoms too. You can get help...
  20. A diagnosis is not why you are paid a benefit. Take me as an example. I have arthritis in several joints plus a neck problem. Plenty of people get ESA for that and they are entitled to do so. They way if affects my day to day life is such that I can and do work full time with a few minor adjustments to my work station. Some people have multiple issues which taken separately do not make render them unfit for work, but taken together do. So it's not the diagnosis, it's how much the person can or can not. I don't think anyone was trying to diagnose the o/p over the internet.
