  1. Hi. I recently got a parking ticket. I wrote to them to dispute it as I did not think i was parked in a restricted area, however they disallowed my appeal. I was about to pay the ticket when I realised that they had put the wrong reg no on - they switched two letters around. Now, the problem is that they actually have my address as I gave it to them when I wrote that appeal. Does that matter? They also say that I cannot make any further representation until i have received a Notice To Owner. Is the PCN valid? Thanks
  2. Hi, Wonder if anyone here has any experience in a similiar matter. I have a business account with BT going on for a few years. I took out a few lines and internet and have recently moved it over to another telecom provider. On going through the final bills, this telecom provider tells me that for the last 3 years BT have been charging me 'excess usage fees' for my internet rather often. They have also been charging me every month for some online internet security thing. I had not been aware of this at all. To be honest, the bills that they send are so confusing because they are broken down into loads of different segments and do not state clearly what charges relate to what service (i.e. telephone, internet or other). Moreover, I genuinely do not recall ordering or requesting this service. I certainly did not use it (BT have now confirmed that we had never downloaded this service but say that this is irrelevant as they had made it available for us) and had I wanted it enough to actually order it - I would certainly have then used it. as to the internet itself - I do not recall them telling me that there would be charges for using more than a certain limit. As I had an office with a few people in at the time, it is certainly not something I would have wanted. BT tell me that there was no contract - this was all agreed verbally and the fact that I ultimately used the service constitutes acceptance of the terms. Moreover, they say that if I had queried this with them in the past, they could have investigated the matter then to try and change me to a different package etc. I have told them that I have tried to speak to them on many different occasions with regards to various billing issues and getting through to anyone there is an absolute nightmare. I have spent literally HOURS getting shunted from one department to the other all of whom claim they they are not the right people to speak to. I get disconnected extremely often when going from one department to another and invariably, the person picking up the phone says that 'unfortunately, the person i spoke to beforehand has not left any notes'. Because the bills are so complicated, there are many parts which I am not aware of what they represent. For me to go through the whole hassle of getting through to someone who can help me at BT just to work out what the bill means is too much. For this reason I had never been aware of the issues with the bill and never queried it. BT do not care. They say they will issue a letter of deadlock as they cannot agree with me. Any suggestions of where I go from here? Is their basic premise - that by using their service I agree to all the terms and conditions of it even if i didn't know of them, was not told of them or verbally agree to them - valid? Thanks
