  1. Go and google and then visit the fightback forum . They specialise in parking ticket advice. They are VERY VERY good! And friendly too! I have no connection with them other than as a big fan of their site and their top notch advice
  2. I'm wondering how much is a money claim going to cost me. I am only owed about £95 by the bank (only!) but it's the bloody principle of it. If I do it through the courts and not online does it cost me more? Many thanks for your replies in advance.
  3. I can't stress strongly enough from my own experiance how important it is that you send your requests via recorded delivery. I've just spoke to A and L today who claimed they've received nothing from me from weeks on the matter (inc luding the returen of the data protection request pack) was with great satisfaction that I was able to quote the recorded delivcery references! Also a question. I'm of the opinion that a request under the act does not have to be done via the banks pack. I have a letter from a and l acknowleding my request for data under the data protection act and confirimng that they will deduct the £10 from my account dated the 22nd july. They are now saying that this doesn't count and it is only a legal request under the act if done via their pack (which I also did at a later date by the way - the pack they are saying they have not received!) Can anyone give a legal standpoint on this please? Thanks! keep fighting the gits!
  4. Just spoke on the phone to Alliance and Leceister and guess what ? - They have no record of receiving my letter re £10 debit from my account to fund data protection request.! We then had a Monty Phyon type conversation about envelopes! They tried to suggest that I had probably sent ithe request in a brown cheque deposit envelope! (which would have gone astray in the worng dept) I assured then I had not and gave them the name of the person I addressed it to i.e Marie Barrow Customer Services. They said they would contact Customer services straightaway about this - We will see eh?
  5. That sounds like an intresting piece of evidence.
  6. They've still not deducted the £10 as requested from my account re Data Protection request and they've had the request for at least 7 working days now.
  7. Just spoke to someone at A&L today. I asked them why they had still not debited the £10 from my account re my Data Protection request. They said it could take as long as 10 days plus!!! What?!!!! It's obviouly not the same people dealing with this who deduct the penalties then!!!
  8. Ok , the latest is that I had a reply from Alliance and Leicester today, saying they will provide me with the info and charge me £10 from my account to cover it. (This could be interesting as at presnt I don't have £10 in it! Surely not .... Surely they won't.....- well we will see eh?!!!!) Basically it's a go away and die letter. Can I quote a few bits of it and ask for peoples comments? Cheers.... …The Office of Fair Trading has commented that they consider the level of late payment charges to be unfair: However they were actually referring to late payment fees for credit card payments which are quite distinct from a banks charges on current accounts. …please be assured our charges are reasonable and are competitive with the charges made by other financial organisations. …the OFT have not entered into any discussions with the banking industry regarding currant accounts. Any comments please. Many thanks in advance for all your help. I look forward to hearing from you all on this.
  9. Not having read these forums correctly (doh!) I stupidly did not send my £10 when I made my request for a list of bank charges under the data protection act. The bank have replied to my letter to say they are looking into the matter. Where do I stand though? Do I need to send a similar letter agin do you think with my £10. I ask because I read on these pages about someone getting the info from their without having to resort to threats under the data protection act.. Any suggestions?
  10. I've asked him to, I'm sure he'll be on here soon. Many thanks for posting
  11. My good friends Father (75 years plus) was recently mugged, a mugging which involved his 'Hole in the wall' card being used. The Police have the offenders on the banks CCTV but despite all this Alliance and Leicester refuse to refund my friends Fathers money. This does not seem right to me . The Bank claim he gave them his pin number! The Police actually know how they got the pin number (His earlier withdrawal was filmed on a mobile phone) and they themselves cannot believe the banks attitude ! What's the legal situation? I thought banks had an obligation to do this. Can anyone advise please?
