He gets 2 days off a week, went away for the days off and missed a meeting then got counselled for it. I asked if he had a union but he doesnt belong to one to ask. -

Yeah it doesnt sound too bad but on a day off! Id never go in on a day off. I dont think they have discussions i think its just for managers to talk about about things. -
My friend works within a company who occasionally have work meetings when the company is closed. These meetings are usually on his days off but he is expected to come in. The management have informed him that he will be paid for these meetings however. Can they make him come in on his days off?
