Just an update, still no response from the bank concerning my complaint sent in concerning the charges took from my account, and the dispute concerning the payment took to pay ebay, they have just sent me aletter now stating I have to pay back my overdrfat now, and if they have to contact me again they will charge £10 per phone call, and £35 per letter etc and they go up concerning the amout of time sthey have to contact me, shame I cant charge them for each letter I have had to send to them concerning their ignorance.

Hi, have sent the letter as advised and the calls have stopped, thanks sea-side lady, all I get now is a letter every other day telling me how much over my overdraft limit I am and to make a payment, I still have heard nothing from the bank concerning the charges on my account since september, also since the bank let a payment go out of my account to "at their discretion so I was told" to ebay when we were already over our overdraft limit a further 7 £35 charges have been added to our account, I have wrote no more cheques, as there would be no point but the bank have allowed 2 cheques to go through, be paid and added 2 lots of charges for this, (the cheques were dated 2007) the other charges are for the £300 plus payment to ebay that I am disputing) and the other 4 charges are and appear to be charges on top of charges, I have sent in letters of complaint and explained in detail that the only reason we went over our overdraft limit was when I was in hospital and we were no notified of charges due, then again in early november where I made certain that there were funds to pay our loan and a cheque , when they decided instead not to pay these and charge me for this £35 twice, and the allow a payment to go out to ebay etc, I have now been over our overdraft limit since september which began by being roughly £32, and now due to charges and them allowing several cheques to be paid and charges on top and loads more charges on top of charges I am now overdrawn over our overdraft limit by roughly £700, I give up now, I have paid nothing into this account now except a token payment of £1.oo p/w I was advised to do this by the CAB, and still nothing from the bank, and now with the banks winning it looks like things can only get worse, especially when the new halifax charges start in the 6th dec, I have asked them to close my account and then let me sort ing out to attempt to begin to pay of our overdraft, and was told that this cannot be done, so in the long run each month now I am going to get further into debt, with these charges of £5 per day for being over our autherised OD limit,

So angry, but what did we really expect, I have now been left in a situation where an unauthorised payment took from my account a matter that I have disputed but was told it can take 120 days to sort out, and since september alone due to this the bank have took almost £600 in overdraft charges all of which have left me over my overdraft limit (so who knows how much in the past 6 years) and as now I am stupid enough to bank with halifax with their new charges which begin early dec I am now looking forward to getting a £5 charge aday added to my account, I cant afford to pay what I owe and if todays decision had of been different I would have had no problems at all, yet know what to do next I have no idea, but I cant pay so????????? we are all being robbed by the banks, the government and too many other organisations and companies to mention, like sheep bing led to slaughter comes to mind.

  6. Thanks, with all of this going on it was the last thing on my mind, everything thats gone in since sept, including a wage slip of the Mrs has all gone on charges, I reallythought that the bank was ok but now I realise how wrong I was.

Hi, just an update, I am still having problems concerning bank charges, I have paid in token payments, and have still heard nothing, it has now been since the 14/10/ 09 when I last had a response from the bank, I sent them in a further letter dated on the same date of the 14/10/09 showing and explaining again about these charges and asked for a response so I can go to Financial ombudsman, yet nothing, I have also just found out that my bank whilst me being overdrawn terribly that they allowed a payment request by ebay for almost £300 to be paid while already being overdrawn our overdraft limit by £120, I am now in a position where I am due to be charged a furher £70 due to charges for allowing this payment to ebay through and a cheque for £7.95 which I totally forgot about, and over our overdraft limit by rougly £480 I went into the bank for an appoinment to discuss this and was told by the person I saw that they could not discuss the charges with me as I had gone over thier head to customer complaints, and the payment to ebay I was told the bank uses its discretion on whether to allow payments through, I said I could understand this for a cheque wrote 3 months ago for £7.95, but not to allow a payment to go through foe nearly £300, whilst we were already overdrawn. I opened a dispute for the payment to ebay as it was my daughter ebay account and my card was never set up as an automatic payment method, and I was told by the person I saw that ebay probably kept my card details when I made a one off payment, this is just another story and at the moment I am in dispute and conatct with ebay concerning this. As I was not getting anywhere I asked the person I saw in the bank if I could see a manager, and was told theres not one available, I then asked if I could be made an appoinment to see one and was told this is not possible, basically I am in a situation where since the 3rd Sept till now over £500 in charges have been added to my account,some paid the rest showing as debt as there is no money in the account to pay them, then an added debt of almost £300 paid to ebay, I am also now receiving calls from the bank collections asking how I am I going to pay my overdraft debt and my cards have all been cancelled, not that I could use them anyway, what worries me even more as I am over my overdraft limit due to all of the charges and the payment allowed to go to ebay from the 6th Dec due to halifax changes a further £5 per day will be added onto the account in charges, I am just in a terrible situation with no help at all from the bank, any advice please will be appreciated. I have also sent in a letter reclaming bank charges but no response.

I was told to ring the police to get a crime number, on speaking to them they said that they could not give me one unless the bank admitted that the payment was wrongly took, but during our conversation he did admit that they had been contacted more than usual about ebay and paypal wrongly taking money from people,
  9. That problem of the extra charges were sent in to ebay 5 weeks ago, with print outs showing the charges and sales showing that she had been charged twice on 5 occasions, and they are apparently still looking into it,

Hi, just got off the phone with for once a helpfull person with ebay and they have actually said that they have no idea why the payment was not took from my daughters bank as her card details are set on her account, and took from mine, which he said is not linked anywhere to her account, they have said they will ring me later on when they have looked into this, as only my daughters card and bank account are linked to her ebay account.

Hi, went to the bank, still not happy, the bank said that it is showing as a card payment , not a DD as I was told over the phone, and they cant request it back, I have again been told again to ring ebay, ebay attempted to take payment from my account on the 25th Oct but payment was declined, and they again requested it on the 30th, yet this time it was paid, all the bank have done is open a dispute which I was told will take 120 days, as the payment took us over our overdraft limit and our account has been passsed to collections the only person that gave me some advice was the person from the collections dept who they put me on the phone to in branch, and she suggested that if I contact the fraud dept of our bank and give them the details as the payment is in dispute, it will show once they look into it how the payment was requested on from ebay, as the bank say it was a payment using our card but then we have been told that this will show up if this be the case, on an e-mail from ebay it states Subject: Action Required -- Credit/Debit Card Payment Declined Received: 25-Oct-09 From: eBay Expires: 10-Nov-10 EBay Account ID: xxxxxxxxxxxxx Card: VISA XXXX-XXXX-XXXX-xxxxxxx Outstanding Payment Due: £247.81 Hello xxxxxxxxxx, --------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- eBay sent this message to xxxxxxxxxx Your registered name is included to show this message originated from eBay. --------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- We are writing to alert you that your monthly eBay seller fees have not been paid because credit/debit card declined eBay's attempt to automatically deduct the amount due. Now what this wording means I have no idea and ebay wouldnt tell me, now if ebay attempted to automaticall deduct money from the account which was mine on the e-mail, then surely no one has made a payment on line using my card which is what the bank are still suggesting, now time to ring the fraud dept to see if they can be of help.
  12. Thank you so much for this very helpful response, they take one look at me in a wheelchair and think that they can take the p,,, I was so angry, now calmed down and ready for in the morning, bank app at 9.00am will be back and let you all know how I get on, thanks again.

  14. Sorry I know I rambled but I was so angry, it was took from my account as a direct debit payment. I did ask the bank yesterday to reverse it and I was told that I have to get an admittal from ebay that they took money from my account without my permission and only then they will get me to complete a form for a very lenghty process or so I was told my bank is the halifax.

Hi, thanks for responding, at the moment the bank are telling me I have to contact ebay, and request the money back, its a visa debit card, I am at the bank in the morning and have printed pages from my daughter account to take with me, it clearly shows the only payment method on her account is her own card, she has also sent in copies of the double charge to ebay where it shows that for one sale 2 charges were made on her seller account for each sale she made, at the moment she is still waiting for ebay to get back to her, (the payment they took was for a sale not a purchase and she was disputing this bill with the double charges on it), my card is not linked to my daughter account anywhere. Another matter is that there was only £62.00 in my bank yet my bank still let it go through, I have since also found out that ebay attempted to take the funds from my account 3 days earlier and it was declined so why my bank allowed it to go through only they can explain, Thans for the advice

Hi, my daughter has an account with ebay, she lives in her own home and has her own bank account etc, in August this year as she was away on holiday I used my debit card to make a one off payment onto her account, then in September she sold a few items, all which went well but noticed on her account she had been charged twice for the same sale, she queried this with ebay who said thay were looking into it, her bill was for £247,81 and should have been after removing the double charge made by ebay should have been £152.40, she was sent a bill for the full amount stating that she owed the full amount, she then took advice from the CAB who said she had infact been charged wrongly, so the outcome was she refused to pay her bill until it was sorted, heard nothing back from ebay at this point, on her ebay account it still showed she was beibg told she owed £247.81. Attempted to ring ebay and she was told its being looked into. Then yesterday I went to buy an item using my debit card and it was declined, which was strange so I rang the bank and was told that an amount of £247.81 had been paid as a direct debit payment to ebay, I had not given any authorization to ebay to take this amount or my bank to pay it. I was told by my bank to go to ebay so I rang ebay and was told that th epayment had been made manually on line as it had been before in August (which was when I made a one off payment to my daughters bill, So I rang the bank who said it was showing up as a Direct debit payment not an online payment, so I rang back ebay, put my daughters account up on screen and was told by the ebay person I was talking to to go to the accounts page and click on it which I did , he then said to look at the part on the page where it shows automatic payment method and see what it said, next to it was the word none, he said Oh" and said that I must have set my card up using ebay, so I went back to my bank who said if my card had been set up ebay would have took a small amount to prove it was my account and that this had not showed up anywhere on my account, so back to ebay I went and basically told them they had wrongly took mney from my account and that the only way my card details could have been got by them is when I made a one off payment, at this point he told me to go to the authorities and hung up, Sorry for rambling on but basically ebay have stole money from my account, I have checked allthrough my daughters ebay account and the only bank detalils in it are her own, but since she was overcharged she did get her bank to put a stop on any payments going out to ebay until they correct her bill and resend it to her, yet now I am out of pocket, ebay are refusing to speak to me other than go to the authorites and the bank are just telling me to go to ebay, they are of no help whatsoever, any advice will be really appreciated:mad:

Hi, back again, my daughter has received numerous txt messages to her phone, calls to her home number and now calls to her employer, still payday express will not tell her any details of the account that the money went into over the phone, or put them in a letter to her as it may not be her and due to the data protection act etc, they have told her she is liable for the loan and has to pay it back the debt is now something like £270, with yet more costs added on, she has rang payday express again today and still they refuse to tell her the account she supposedly received this loan into, she went to the CAB last week who have made her an app with a solicitor, and she told payday express that due to the harrasment she is having she wants her number removed her employers number removed and the only contact with her from now on will be with a Solicitor, the conversation was on speaker phone and taped, tell you something if payday express would have given the deatils we requested it would of been alot easier, they wouldnt even give her the bank name that the loan was paid into, how does a bank name with no account number or persons name breach the data protection act I have no idea, , this matter could have been sorted by now, well we tried but Payday express are of no help what so ever.

  19. No, its me never explained correctly , they told my daughter and me on the phone that the money went in to her account by transfer on the 18th sept, (should of put it down correctly) I am going to keep on until we get the sort code and account number,

Have tried but they will not give my daughter the account number or sort code they said the money went into over the phone, as it may not be her, security measures etc, she has asked them to put the details down in a letter and send it to her, but that was only a week ago, and with the postal strike, still I really look forward to seeing what account they have.

Hi, thanks for the response, no offence taken, really thats what I first thought until I saw her bank statment and definately nothing paid in from this company, infact nothing in except when her wages went in, have made her an app with the CAB who she is booked with next week, solicitor does sound better, they are calling my daughters mobile daily and our house number, I actually spoke to them with my daughters permission and they insist that the funds were paid into her account,

Hi, my daughter stupidly decided to take a pay day loan last month, she then went ahead and began to fill in the application on line which took her to payday express, she then continued to complete the form, she must have been half way through when we got home, and I suggested that she read through the problems others have had with these and then said should she wish to go ahead then feel free or we could give her the money instaed and she could pau us back interest free, she was due to go on holiday and as she does not get paid till the end of the month she just wanted to buy a few mor ethings etc, she decided on reading through the posts to take us up on our offer, anyway she did not agree to any loan or did not get any response from the company on line obviously as she had closed the site before completeing the form, then a few weeks ago she got a letter from payday express stating that she had been accepted for her loan of £80 but due to the fact that they had attempted to take the funds from her account and were not able to do so she now owes them £160, she rang payday express and they said that the loan had been paid into her account on the 18th Sept, they would not give her the account number that the loan was paid into but on contacting her bank there is no paymnent showing from payday express into her account, yet now she is being called 2-3 times a day from this company saying they want their money back etc, still adding more charges according to the call she received yesterday she now owes £210, Had they originall y attempted to take the funds she supposedly owed from the correct account that my daughter has they would of had no problem as her wages would have been in there, and on speaking to her bank they said that there has been no attempt to take any funds from her account by anyone. Yet she is still being harrassed by this payday company

Hi, it happened to us with the halifax in May, over £1,120 took from account, after taliking with the fraud dept , they then sent us out a declaration for us to sign, (this took 2 weeks in total) then resent in declaration, after this funds took at least 3 weeks before going back into our account, some transactions took longer, I would say in total it took 7 weeks to get back all of our money. They were not quick.

Tahnk you very much for your prompt response, I know halifax dont give a dam, have been with them for years, it was when I had an accident and ended up only being able to leave home in a wheelchair did they become awkward, thanks for the help, again really appreciate this, will get my daughter to help me with it when she gets home from work,

Hi, due to a spell in hospital and a lack of receiving a bank letter informing me that I had gone overdrawn due to halifax insurance wrongly taking a payment from my account even though the policy was cancelled, I have a problem, basically early sept a charge of £31.99 was took from my account wrongly by halifax home insurance, a matter that I was not aware off, due to this a cheque that I had wrote for £34 was allowed and paid which resulted in me going overdrawn, funds were then put into my account by a family member so I could pay more bills, again which were paid but again due to my account being £31.99 short again my account again ended up with me being overdrawn, to cut a long story short I was charged on the 3rd sept - £35 10th sept -£35 16th Sept - £35 18th Sept -£35 22nd Sept - £35 26th Sept - £35 28th Sept - £35 3rd Oct - £35 plus interest charges of £24.70 the 1st Oct I have contacted the bank by letter explaing that due to me being in hospital I had no mail, I also explained that on returning home the charges for the 10th and the 16th the 22nd and the 28th sept I was never informed of anyway. can the charges be dropped or lowered as it was their fault of taking £31.99 from my account in the first place that took weeks to be paid back into my account, and received a short reply stating that the charges are set and I have to pay them, at the same time I also sent an identical letter to the customer complaints dept of the bank but as yet all I have had is a response saying it is being looked into, , In one month charges were took for £245 plus and I only get £210 per month in Incapacity benefit, yesterday I got my daughter to get a mini statement from the bank and on the 9th Oct a further charge of £35 has been took, another charge that I was not notified about, which stems from them taking out the £35 charge on the 3rd October which resulted in me being overdrawn, I have since heard from the customer relations that stated they are paying back the charge of £35 that was took following the £31.99 wrongly took resulted in me being overdrawn, but nothing else
