  1. Hi, Can anyone tell me how much you have to earn before you are no longer entitled to the family (basic) element of child tax credit (£10.50) per week. Thanks!
  2. Dear all, Can anyone help me with a problem we have encountered. Our fence between ourselves and our neighbour was badly needing replaced - we spoke to our neighbour and agreed that we would replace it and he (our neighbour) would contribute towards the costs. A figure of £350 was agreed - this is very very cheap as it stretches the full length of the garden (approx 30 metres), as my husband will do all the labour. Anyway, we purchased the wood, took down the old fence, bought the cement from the quarry and work on the new fence commenced......only to be told by our neighbour that he now "cannot afford to contribute". We gave him options, ie pay monthly over the next year to 18 months, or pay us the full amount at a later date, all which he declined. Where do we stand now? Do we have any rights at all? I am so angry - he will get a complete new fence which will enhance his property at our expense! Not even a contribution from him! Thank you for reading.
  3. Hi blitz, Thanks for your reply! Ebay has got them all listed again?? Duno why they were removed?? Anyway, my area is Aberdeenshire/Invernessshire in Scotland. I have got friends/relatives in the area so any store in 150 mile radius is fine to visit. I'm also looking for the go go pets accessories ie the funhouse. Thanks again for your help.

  6. Sorry if I have read mis-read this thread, but why on earth would RLP and co still be chasing you if Boots have cancelled the action?? Are they or have they been communicating with each other?? Why can't Boots just call off their dogs and be done with it and let your family have some peace of mind??
  7. Ok then, think about it another way, in your favour..... Addressing them direct..... Dear Mr Supermarket, Please recognise the strength of public concern over this matter and do the decent thing..........apologise and re-instate your employee.......and you will win my custom back. Yours etc Ps I could have wrote a longer, more intellectual letter, but they do seem a bit dim so I wrote in appropriate wording
  8. Everyone is entitled to an opinion and never underestimate the power of people. It is a customers right to shop wherever they so choose and the supermarket in question have no right to hold my decison against you. I have followed this thread, made my own opinions and have the right to choose where I shop - sometimes that decision is decided by factors other than price. The supermarket in question should bear that in mind in future.
  9. Hi. I've also been following this thread. Well done on a positive outcome. For what it's worth, I won't be shopping in that Supermarket again. I have taken my £150+ per week shopping trolley elsewhere. Shocking way to treat an employee. N
  10. Hi. I am new to this forum but joined in the hope that some people might give me good advice. I have worked in my current job since leaving school. I am on a good rate of pay with good perks, good working hours and a good non-contributory pension........ What's the problem you ask??....well, I am bored and brain dead and realisation is hitting home that if I don't do something soon, my retirement will be here before I know it. I have applied for a couple of jobs in a field which I am very interested in, and was lucky enough to get an interview for one........and got it - but alot less pay! Am I stupid and selfish to even be considering taking this post in todays financial climate? Should I be grateful I have a job paying a good wage? Or is life too short to be institutionalised in one job........(ps the only reason I'm on a good rate of pay is because of my length of service). Thanks everyone.
