What are UK CPS like from peoples knowledge, tendency to go go court?amount of letters?Letter types expected?Any phonecalls? cheers

Last week, i took my grielfriend home. Usually I drop her off at the end of the road and she walks home. Recently though, groups of boys have been hanging around that area, forcing her to feel intimidated, therefore on this occasion i parked up in a parking space outside the front of the apartment to walk her in. As she had been shopping that day, i helped carry her shopping up to her room. When i came back down 10 minutes later i realised i had a ticket on my windscreen, which stated i was parked in a space which required a permit and therefore owed the £75 fine. Although there are signs on the fences around the car park albeit very small and un-noticable ones, a person would not know that the spaces in which i was parked were for permit holders only and could easily think they were for vistors like myself. Cars are often parked in those spaces without any sort of permit also , which led me to believe it was ok to park in that particular spot. This therefore has left me quite puzzled as to why i got a ticket, as the clarity of where the parking rules apply is poor. Also due to the fact i was dropping my girlfriend off who actually lives there and was given a mere 5 minutes to get back to my car (as stated on the ticket recieved), when it is not even possible to get to the apartment and back down in 5 minutes. What should i do? pay or not? On the ticket it states they will charge £30 every 10 days if i havent paid by the initial ten days. And they will contact the dvla for my details. It also states, all court and balliff charges would be charged onto my final bill!! This is a ticket from a private company also! And the land as far as my knowledge is not owned by them. Any help would be appreciated.
