  1. thanks for the reply, checked it , and it says the same about lodger , it has to be with written permission of landlord.... do they normally need to know for insurance and paper work reasons? whats the worse thing can happen ?
  2. hi i am reinting a flat and in the contract it says no subletting without written permisson from the landlord/agent, i have spare room which i would like to let, is it a big deal if i sublet? ? whats the worse thing can happen if i sublet? what if i ask the agent? can they say no ? wil they charge me extra? does it mean im subletting if i share the flat with someone else?im bored of living on my own
  3. hi i moved to this flat which im renting thru agency, when i viewed the place i was told that the contract be for 6 month and at the end of contract if we both agree i can stay longer and after that i only need to give 1 mont notice at anytime if need to leave the property ... now my 6 month is due to end and the agency is asking if I want to stay another 6 month, which means i have to sign another contract, is thats how its normally done ? in the past i only had to sign once and after the initial 6 or 12 month i was always free to evacuate the property as long as i would give one month notice ... what about the fact that the agency told me I be needing to give one month notice , is there much i could do about it ? I have queried this with them now and they replied like this " What ever contract is signed either 6 or 12 month lease then a months notice is required in writing one month before the end of the lease" and there is nothing in the contract saying what happens after 6 month. im a little confused , is this is normal ? and if not , can they do it this way ?
  4. thanks for the info, they have recieved my latest post and amended the account so I got billed for the period that i lived there only. but they also charging me about 57extra for late payment and stuff.I dnt think its my fault because I always responded to their bill in a timely manner, but they kept asking me for more and more documents each time which is why it has taken so long... I phoned them and said if I can pay the amount without fine I then put it in writing expaining why .. but they only accept full payment, i was adviced to pay full payment and then write to the headquater and follow up ...am I suppose to pay that exra fine ? they are demanding for the money within next 14 days... and if I write to them it will take another 28 days for them to respond which is very annoying .. they guy on the said he can see that i have always kept in touch and its all recorded on their system ... in the last email i recieved they apologized for late response as well. this is too much bullying
  5. Im going submit a claim and see, thank you! I am due to change my insurance company soon, becasue Im after fully comprehensive cover and the current insurer is not likely to be the cheapest one ... the question is what if I find the nieghbours registeration number after I move to the new insurer? will the current still be responsible for the repair ? ( please also see my other thread http://www.consumeractiongroup.co.uk/forum/showthread.php?273493-wrong-convection-date-extra-charge ) should i not fix the damage until couple of weeks time ? i know one of the kids on the street who is the neighbours cousin ( cousin of the driver who damaged my car) and told the police but they didnt do much ....

I'm thinking of moving to another company because I also like to have fully comprehensive cover and doubt it that this company is going to be the cheapest oneanyway (see this thread for why http://www.consumeractiongroup.co.uk/forum/showthread.php?274061-Crashed-and-ran-away! ) ... but I have been told by the current insurance company that if I withdraw and go for other company I will have to notify my new insurer that I have withdrawn insurance in the past which can increase my premium, is thats true ? I thought I only have to tell them if the insurance company cancels my current policy...

Hi, I have 3rd party fire and theft insurance on my car only, one night one if the neighbours or their family crashed into my car and ran away ... the other neighbour who witnessed the accident gave me partial plate number. I phoned the insurance but they are refusing to pay for the damage ... I phoned the police who has taken statement from me and the witness but they cant find match the partial plate number to the described while model and colour ... I received a letter from police saying that they have submitted a form to the insurer and they have stated that im innocent. Is it insurerers responsibility to pay and fix my car now? What should/shouldn’t i do ? Thank you :?

Hi, when i bought my insurance premium i stated my conviction ( using mobile phone while driving ) as 2 years old offence , but apparently the actual date offence commited was 2 years and 2 month ago! which makes my offence an older offence .. this is clearly an innocent mistake due to me not knowing the exact date and guessing it ... insurance company is now asking for extra 45quid due to this mistake it doesnt even make sense ... is thats fair ? thank you
  9. council tax billing me for old address Hi, I shard house with friend’s friend for couple of weeks(over 9 month ago ), When i moved to friends property i asked council tax office to amend my old address and contact me at new address . I told them im not the only person living here and made it clear that this is temporary move, however they registered me as resident of the new place and now that i moved out of that place they still billing and bullying me for not paying my bills , ( they billing me for next 15 month all together! ) , I have asked friends friend to take care of his property, but he is not phoning the council ltax, because if they do then they be liable and the CT office will chase them instead ... Initially council tax asked for tenancy agreement but there was nothing signed between us... They then asked me to write to them with landlord details and date i livid there which i did and provided them with friends details.. 2 month later they still billing me and asking me to go to court and explain not paying my bills .. After couple of phone calls they then asked me for tenancy agreement from new landlord, I send them whatever i had ( informal tenancy agreement for a room which i lived in) + royal mail redirection letter confirmation ... now after 2 chase up ... they aksing for letter from new landlord to confirm the details of informal tenancy agreement ..( which im due to send them tomorrow) Im fedup with their customer servie, every time I email or write to them it takes them 28 days to receive it and update their system and make up their mind about what comes next .. it seems as if they not trusting me and im stuck in a stressfull loop. I dont think if they should have put me on their system in first place! Also not happy with friends friend for not paying his tax... i still got his text messages saying he has phoned them but all lies ... Can I take CT staff to court over this?my rent which i paid to friends friend included the tax and I only owned a room, so i was not meant to get billed for this property in first place... i phoned them and asked for manager but they didn’t put me through. I also liked to teach friends friend a lesson if possible. its been 6 month since i left that property and CT is still not convinced that i dnt live in that address no more ... its the greatest stress i had in past 12 month. On Saturday the 20th I sent a document to an embassy in London ( via royal mails special delivery) I also included prepaid envelop with my address on it for them to return the document back to me + 15quid application fee and copy of my degree to be stamped by the embassy.... On my receipts it indicates that I paid 10+quid which is the total fee for 2 way post, but I was only given bar code to track the sending item and not the returning one, now It has been 8 days since then and I have not received the item back... Have phoned the royal mail they confirm the item was delivered on 23rd, spoken to the embassy they say they normally send all items back on the same day and don’t know more about it. They can provide me with the bar code to track the item , they only keep cover letters, but I forgot to send cover letter with my document, so they can’t confirm whether my document was received or not). Have checked the royal mails track and trace I can see that the document was delivered on 23rd but that’s all about it, don’t know what happened after .... I’m stock here, I really need my document back because I’m due to fly this week, and really need the document for official use in another country. I’m sort of wasting the flight ticket if I go without this document L
  12. when I moved to my old apartment i didnt provide them with current meter readin ( it was my first time living on my own and my mistake ..) i didnt pay any bills until I left the place 12 month later) still i didnt provide them with the meter reading... ( i guess they charging me based on estimate and average use...) because i ignored their letters, they threaten court action and added 89 quid to my bills, im happy to pay the outstanding balance even though its estimate and probably doesn't represent true figures ... but want to avoid the 89quid court action fee. should i phone them and pay the outstanding balance only? will that work ?
  13. Hi I have been unemployed for couple of month, I wasn’t able to pay my water and delayed it, now that im trying to pay off the water company is aksing for 89quid to avoid court action. Do I have to pay this extra money legally? can they charge this much? Thanks
  14. my calls were directed through Talk-talk,and internet provided by tiscali i only paid BT for phone line because talk-talk and other companies at the time couldnt do the line setup , I had no other option..I always had to get bt involved initially.
  15. I meant would it be possible if I ask postoffice to take over my existing line at old address which is still active and then cancel it after a month ? so I avoid BT cancellation fee.
