  1. Ive not yet been able to scan this as its not working. Does anyone know what I can look at on a dn to see if it is valid? Are they abel to issue this notice on an account in dispute?
  2. As per my other thread (http://www.consumeractiongroup.co.uk/forum/debt-collection-industry/212473-egg-not-playing-nicely.html) I have an account in dispute with Egg. I have now recidved a default notice and have been asked to pay a large sum of monies within a few weeks. I am really stuck and dont kow what to do, can anyone help please?
  3. I have now recieved a default notice from Egg dated 30/11 asking full payment of the loan before the 19/12. I wil scan this in if I can but I am very scared now. What should I do? I have followed all the advice and told them the account was in dispute. Please help!
  4. Good evening to you all! I sadly fell behind on my HSBC mastercard on which I owe almost £4000. I was close to either a payday loan or a cash advance on the card but common sense took over and I sent a CCA request. I waited 14 days and sent the second template letter. Today I recieve a responce, not sure if it was relating to my first or second letter. The reply seems simlar to many others on here. It includes a blank agreement for midland bank with a hand written (not my writing) old address written on it. In addition to this I recieve a letter explaining that they
  5. as a further update, i have yesterday recieved a statement of account for the loan today and although the loan is a few years old, this is the first such statement i ever see. is this a sign that i should worry?
  6. Last week, I recieved a call where a&l refused to accept liability but did offer to refund all charges (that mounted up while waiting for them to respond) but would not cover any costs. I asked for this in writing. Then, I recieved a formal request for payment and in addition a letter stating that the offer of closing the account without charges is open for 8 weeks. They also enclose a set of letters that I did not recieve, I am unsure if they did send them or not as one of the letters was not discussed during our lengthy phone call and this letter would have nullified the majority
  7. Thanks all for the help so far. Following on from last week, I recieved a formal request for payment and in addition a letter stating that the offer of closing the account without charges is open for 8 weeks. They also enclose a set of letters that I did not recieve, I am unsure if they did send them or not as one of the letters was not discussed during our lengthy phone call and this letter would have nullified the majority of my issues. Should I respond with another letter or will the FO be of assistance?
  8. I recentrly signed upo with a&l in the hope that i would recieve £150 for a simlar current account. I now owe £350 in charges on a 50p overdraft!!!! They say that I did not tick the box asking to transfer my salary, so they only ticked the box asking to transfer debits. I know that I did tick this box as the website offered a £150 incentive to do so. The events are as follows: 1 ) sign up for bank account at end of april 2 ) receive a letter shortly afterwards thanking me 3 ) recieve bank cards and security in june 4 ) notice in july that my mortgage and all bills have b
  9. I finally got a call from them after waiting a long time. I now owe £350 in charges on a 50p overdraft. I know that I did tick this box as the website offered a £150 incentive to do so. 10. As I have never recieved a satement, I have no idea what the charges are for right now. I am drafting a letter to find out why it has taken 9 weeks to reply to my origional letter of complaint and also why I didnt know about any charges for 9 weeks as it has obviously got worse over the 9 weeks with charges leading to charges. I am now back with my old bank and wish I hadnt bothered trying to take advantage of a too good to be true offer.
  11. I am in a simlar situation where I moved my banking to A&L as they promised me £150. They badly messed up the transfer which resulted in me having missed payments on my mortgage and bils and I had to manually contact each debits to move back to my old bank. They sent me a letter stating there would be no charges and I then sent a letter of complaint. They replied that itwould take some time to look into this and after 2 months, a reply has come back asking me for £250 !!! I am shocked and not sure what to do next as I have already sent in a full complaint. Is there a way
  12. Update - it has now been 7 weeks and I have heard nothing. No calls, No letters, no default notice (as far as I know) and still I pay nothing. Is this typical, a calm before the storm or are they happy to be in limbo for a short time?
  13. Just as a further update, I have recived only one letter (maybe another in post) from Capital Collections Agencies which at first seems to a third party but seems to share an address with Egg. They tell me to phone a number to avoid furter action and that a contact manager will be visting my home if I am not careful. Im thinking that there is a letter I can send to say that they havent reponded to my CCA request in any form?
  14. As a further update I have recived two letter from Egg today, one for the card account and one for the loan account. The letters bascially say that they have complied with the CCA request and reading the details it seems that this is a standard letter where they think that I have recieved a 'fake' or dubious response to the cca whereas in actual fact I have recieved nothing. Before I default in a few days should another letter telling them again that I recieve nothing? They also say that I can complain to the financial ombudsman, but doing so means that they wont be able to spea
