My cousin just moved to the US 6 months ago and owed Barclays bank about £5000. She was paying a monthly agreed amount before she left to be with her husband but since she moved she's not been able to get a job and has not made a single payment. The problem is Barclays has been sending letters to her previous address and the Landlord has been calling her about the letters. What negative impact does this have on the landlord, if any? Can my cousin be deported to the UK if located by the bank? Will this be considered as fraud because she's struggling to make money and already left the UK without informing the bank?
