  1. Semi, i would be very interested in the response to this, as I am in a similar situation, car was VT and they are now chasing for the balance
  2. Clearly you have all read more into my comment, nothing was said with venom and nobody said anything about "speaking to anybody in the correct way" Apologies for wasting both my time and yours - will stay away from forums in the future
  3. Jesus, nobody is defending them, perhaps I need to find another forum to put my thoughts to, I seriouly thought people on this forum wanted to share their thoughts and feelings, clearly not!
  4. Unfortunately I know that now, I did sign the agreement though and have my copy and I did default so presumed I had no leg to stand on:cool:
  5. Perhaps it is a shame but it stopped the calls and I did not know what else to do. Sorry to dissappoint you but no troll!
  6. I can then understand the aggression behind some of the comments, I was fortunate enough to get a female collector on the line and perhaps it was my tears that prompted her actions, I don't know, however she put me thru to a debt support team who were very helpful and accepted my circumstances and allowed me to pay token payments. I think that restored my faith in humanity.
  7. Perhaps I am just ignorant to the goings on of dca's staff, and as to whether they acting in high moral ground or not or whether it is only commission they're after, however I do agree with ScarletPimpernel, it is surely the ones that run the companies that should be demoralised. degraded etc etc. Has nobody ever spoken to a decent/civil debt collector?
  8. I'm sure you do and i'm not disputing that or defending any dca's or their staff, I do however sympathise with ANYBODY that is in debt and struggling to meet their commitments.
  9. Lickthewallfatboy - You seriously don't believe this do you? If you did why do you appear only to hate worstcredit,I owe them money along with the likes of other DCA's - and yes some are worse than others but hey is it our duty to take it out on the staff they employ. I don't think so, as in todays economy they are probably in the same financial mess that we are in. They are after all humans as well - lets try and remember that
  10. Thanks for reply kabukiman, I have contacted my credit card company and they are sending me an indemnity form. I called Essex Racing again today and was again advised the cheque is in the post, when I told her that I was told it was going to be posted recorded delivery on wednesday last week, she advised me Jen was lying as they do not post cheques recorded delivery!!
  11. I purchased headlights for my vehicle on 12th May 2009 online at a cost of £209.00. Delivery time on the website said 3-5 days. On 20th May 2009 I chased up my order and was advised it would take another 10 days. On 4th June 2009 I chased up the order again and was now advised it would take another 3 weeks - at no time did they contact me to apologise for delay, the only time I had communciation with them was when I chased them. On 16th June 2009 I phoned and spoke to Keith and advised I wanted to cancel my order and wanted an immediate refund back onto my credit card that I paid with, he advised it takes approx. 28 days to refund me my money, I was not happy and advised him of this. I have since phoned them vitually everyday and have been advised by both Jen and Becky that a cheque was in the post, after 10 days of not receiving the first cheque I requested the cheque be sent to me by recorded delivery - that was 1 week ago and still not received. Please can someone suggest how I can get my money back........... They are absolutley rubbish and never return calls and Mr Johnson who is apparently the manager is never available.
