  1. Does this little beasty find anyone else over here's number? I would be interested to hear....
  2. DLC - Donkeys - Dont talk to em on the phone - ever... (Standard advice in here ) Do send a CCA and wait for the response. Do not admit that the debt is yours.... Have fun and dont let em grind you down Oh yes - they have never got a payment out of me - tell em to put me on their list
  3. Yep That is why I find it totally unbelievable Sorry - this is the link to the mobile phone lookup - remember to leave the leading zero off your number.... http://www.intelius.com/people-search-phone.html
  4. Hi All When i accidentally stumbled on this, I typed in my mobile number - which I have had for years (and suffered years of DCA harrasment through anyway). Worryingly - it offered me my details for a small fee..... People Search & Directory Services Powered By Intelius I am actually going to purchase them at some point cos I have moved and I am absolutely certain that these will be incorrect - but they will have the correct name.... I have just set up a dodgy hotmail account for their responses, filled in their contact form with a snotty email and threatened them with
  5. For those that haventread - and acted upon this.... Bump
  6. And - does it record how many calls its blocked from each number for your records? You will need these records to successfully action a telephone harrasment claim at some point....
  7. Honeypot - Dont listen to them - they cant do it. And dont answer the phone to them - do the telephone harrasment complaint letter and report their conversation. On your mobile:- Leave it to ring itself to death and stop. Check the number on: Phone Call Comments (Whocallsme.com) If its a DCA, add it to your Contacts, Create a Group in your mobile called Plonkers (or something appropriate), set the Group ringtone to none and no vibrate - then add the DCA contact to the Group. Bingo - everytime a call comes in from that number (and all the rest you have put in the
  8. Just one handy hint from a seasoned telephone harrasment avoider Leave it to ring itself to death and stop. Check the number on: Phone Call Comments (Whocallsme.com) If its a DCA, add it to your Contacts, Create a Group in your mobile called Plonkers (or something appropriate), set the Group ringtone to none and no vibrate - then add the DCA contact to the Group. Bingo - everytime a call comes in from that number (and all the rest you have put in the group) from here on in - silent & not vibrating
  9. Council tax first - these boys can do more damage to you than most and you need to sort em out quickly - give em a ring, explain the situation and ask for the overdue payments to be spread across your normal payments - they are pretty much obliged to accept anything you offer them. Then send out your CCA's with the £1 accompanying fee denying any acknowledgement of the debt... There is some seriously good advice in here - but you dont sound like you have the time to do much reading up up on the best way to move this forward.... I am just a newbie in here and i have no doubt bett
  10. Sounds like the best advice - CSL (From my experience Credit Solutions) may not have bought the debt, they may just be acting as a collection agency - which (IMHO) the CCA request doesnt apply to... They arent Bailiffs and have no rights without a CCJ - big dogs are good - I have two great danes - dont get anyone knocking at my door for long that doesn't know me
  11. Absolutely spot on.... CAB will just give you the 'absolutely necessary expenses' blank form to fill in (and a bit of advice on which bits to expand upon) and photocopy, then its down to you to deal with your creditors - make offers of payment etc etc... Pls remember - once you acknowledge the debt and make any offer of payment - your statute barrred debt date resets to the date you acknowledge... So if you have a debt you havent acknowledged for 5 yrs and 6 months and you go through the process with CAB, send out the letters - acknowledge the debt etc The debt would have
  12. I have always taken the 'no response' at all approach with AKtive.... Sometimes it amuses me to write 'no longer at this address' on their un-opened letter and drop it back into the post They dont go away - but letters appear to be the limit of their powers.... Please feel free - anyone - to correct me if I am wrong - my posts are all just IMHO
  13. Hi All One thing I would like to bring to the table with the walking possesion stuff.... A mate of mine had me sign a reciept for him - to say I had bought all his furniture (including tv / dvd etc) from his house for a tenner, then a couple of reciepts to say he was hiring everything from me for a pound a week... I really dont have any idea about the legalities of this but I do know the Baliffs couldnt touch anything because nothing was technically his - nothing ever moved from his house. If anyone can expand on this, I would be interested...
  14. 1 - sounds like giving in to the DCA's - dont do it - they are as useless as the rest of them 2 - if you sent a full and proper CCA (DAR? Getting confused with the terminology in here - Data Protection Act request for all data held - electronically and manually) they should have sent you everything the first time around.... Anything less is a breach
  15. You will get used to the threats mate - takes a while - but it comes to us all....
