My current gym - FF has been taken over by Energie and all memberships transfered. They are making changed which reduce the facilities drastically and have reduced my membership by £3.01. I have not been to the gym for some time due mainly to injury but have continued to pay membership fees. Some of the changes have been notified but not all and the standard is now such that I don't want to go there. I have informed the manager in writing and cancelled my direct debit but have agreed to pay a calendar month's notice. However the gym says that it will be one calendar months notice from the first of the month (4 days ago) and so I will need to pay for August too (about 7+ weeks notice) otherwise it will be referred to their debt recovery people - can they enforce this?
