  1. Thanks! I think sometimes in life you just need to speak your mind... politely in this case of course.
  2. To be honest I feel the need to have my say on the issue.... I was formally told that the reason for my redundancy was that the department was closing and therefore my job was redundant. I was told there were no other jobs available within any other department and offered my full redundancy entitlement. To be honest I need some form of closure on it and an explanation from them as to why the department never ever closed as fully indicated to me was the sole reason for my redundancy would maybe make me feel less angry.
  3. I know a lot of time has passed under the bridge as I was made redundant in late 2008. However I was made redundant as the service/department I was working for was supposed to be being closed down! I have now found out that this department never closed at all! I would now like to write a formal letter to the company requesting an explanation as to why I was mislead in to redundancy. Any help writing a suitably worded letter would be much appreciated. Thanks
  4. Obviously having never had to do this before what should be my first move? who should I contact?
  5. Unfortunately I feel I have been unfairly dismissed! .....even more unfortunately due to the circumstances it was impossible for me to know I had been unfairly dismissed until around 8 months down the line! does that automatically rule out any claim I might have? Basically I was made redundant and my department was being closed down! it was going to take approx 3 months to finish existing projects however as I worked in sales my job was over and I was rather unpolitely made redundant and was made to leave immediately!! I have since found out that the company have continued trading and have kept the department running and indeed by all accounts put more effort in to running it!! Would this stand up as being unfairly dismissed bearing in mind I had worked there for 9 years. There was no way I could find out within 3 months that this was the case!! unfortunately its actually quite a secretive industry and that is the reason I was unable to find out until now that they never closed my department.
