Do I have to inform creditors of change of address???
booklover replied to booklover's topic in Debt Collection Agencies
thanks.....it looks like the letters will be 'lost in the post' then!! i pay all creditors by standing order anyway. i usually only hear from them when they send monthly statements. -
Hi all! I moved house last month and have redirected my mail for 3 months to give me a chance to get around to writing all the letters. It has occurred to me that some of my creditors have been quiet for a very long time, and I am concerned that if I write to them to inform them of my change of address they may start hounding me for more money after realising my payments haven't been reviewed for so long. Do I have to change my address......could I just continue to have the mail redirected? All help/opinions gratefully received! Thanks! J.

Hi dx No haven't sent letter yet. Will do it today (I'm a shift worker so today is my first opportunity since receiving letter from Apex). If I send the letter today, what date should I expect to hear from them by? And I need to send a £1 postal order is that correct? i've never done this before. Thanks! -

Good Morning! I have posted about this problem previously but have no idea how to find my previous posts so will have to start again. Will try to be brief! In Oct last year I started to receive texts from Apex saying I had to contact them. I didn't, and waited for a letter which I received early November stating they had bought my debt from Egg and I now owed them £3447.97. I checked my credit report and found that this amount was incorrect, the amounted they quoted was approx. £150 more than I owed to Egg. I wrote back to Apex and asked why the outstanding balance had increased -

Back in November I had various texts/calls etc from a company called Apex who had purchased my Egg credit card debt. The balance they quoted me was more than the amount that I owed to Egg, so I wrote to them saying that before I arranged a repayment amount, I wanted them to explain how the amount they said I owed was over £100 more than what Egg said I owed. Anyway, its now been at least 6 weeks since I posted that letter and I have heard nothing. No response at all. No letters, no texts, no calls. Should I chase them up, or just sit and wait for them to come back to me. I'm not -
Booklover v DLC. Possible PPI refund ?
booklover replied to booklover's topic in Payment Protection Insurance (PPI)
Hi I had a loan with HFC a few years ago which they then turned into an account with a credit card/chque book facility. I stupidly ran up a debt and defaulted on it. I was paying payment protection. The debt is now with DLC whom I pay monthly reduced amounts to. I've heard bits and bobs about people claiming charges etc back and would like to know if I could do this. I have various credit card debts all of which will have been inflated by charges. Is this something I should look into? -
Hi Sorry to butt in here, but I am paying DLC for a debt that was originally with HFC Bank. I was paying Payment Protection until I defaulted. is this something I could claim back? I'm hearing alot about people claiming back charges etc but I don't know what to do about it.

Cabot/Mortimer claimform - old EGG card debt
booklover replied to fairbyblue's topic in Financial Legal Issues
Ok guys, I've just phoned the National Debt Helpline as I wanted immediate answers on what to do about this. Firstly, yes, Egg can sell the debt on if you have an informal arrangement with them to make reduced payments. They can do this at any time. I'm told that if I am in doubt about receiving the 2 letters in the same envelope, I should write to Egg to confirm this and also write to Apex to tell them I am corresponding with Egg and will be in touch once I am satisfied that the account has now been passed to them. On receiving confirmation from Egg to say that the account is -

Have no idea why they've sold. I've always paid on time. Would my first step be to send the CCA letter to Apex then? That needs a £1 fee doesn't it? I've not done this before. -
