i think you should get some real legal advice rather than taking the advice from here ... at the end of the day your daughter left the store without paying ... whether she had the money in her hand or not, who is to know she was going to pay if shes walked out the store? i dont think ignoring this issue is the way forward, either way this matter is in your daughters name and not yours therefore any adverse effects will be against your daughter and jeopodise her future not yours. You should be seeking independant legal advice

argos have obviously instructed RLP to act on their behalf as their "legal agents". Would you be happy if you had instructed solicitors to act on your behalf but the other party wrote directly to you? i think not.

JonCris - re the template letter you have to send out to RLP's "clients", where abouts can I get hold of it. I wish to contact TK Maxx after receiving one of these letters from RLP after a) not doing anything intentional (which was agreed with the store at the time!!) and b) being told no further action would be taken after they talked to me for all of 5 minutes! please help as i want to raise this with TK Maxx so they are aware of what is happening!!
