  1. Hi I just wanted to warn anyone who is thinking of purchasing from Currys an all in 1 package of a digital camera & photo printer dock to make sure that they specifically ask for SEPARATE 'whatever happens' repair cover for each item (ie 2 'whatever happens' policies) even if the camera and printer dock come as a single package in 1 box. I have recently had to take my digital camera back to Currys as it was faulty. They sent away the camera and it came back not requiring repair, so it suggested the printer was at fault, however I was then informed by the 'whatever happens' team that the printer was NOT covered! I argued that I had bought the package as 1 item, as sold. They commented that it was just the camera that had cover. Taking the complaint up with Currys instore they sent away the printer anyway and it came back unrepaired. They then found another printer from the display and put my camera onto the dock. Although the printer was not the same as the one I had purchased it fitted and worked, proving it was the printer that was faulty not the camera. The Currys store manager took the complaint to head office of 'whatever happens' but they couldnt do anything either as it was a fault of the Currys sales system. Which coincidentally has changed and it used to 'flag up' separate cover for each individual item but now, apparantly, just asks once per package. Currys were very apologetic and as I am still paying for the old camera and printer they exchanged it for 2 separate ones and made sure they were still covered. If another problem arises in the future they will be happy to support thr issues again. They are making the Currys head office aware of the matter and have advised me to make a formal written complaint to back them up which I am doing so. I just wanted to warn readers of this matter so they can avoid hassle and make sure their new purchases are fully covered and take up any issues on past purchases if necessary. Best wishes.
  2. Hello Been led to this website via a search on the heading details so hoped someone could advise PLEASE can someone help me I really am confused and dont know what to do! Many thanks. I have done a search on Barclays Partner finance and was surprised to see there were several threads on the subject. However none of them answer my questions. Appologies in advance for the long post. Please can someone give me some helpful advice or even who I am dealng with? A few months ago I received a letter from Barclays Partner Finance informing me that they were formerly Clydesdale Financial Services and I had arrears with them. I refused to pay as I had never heared of either company. I then had a yellow postcard from a company calling themselves Allied International Credit (UK) Limited, based in Glasgow informing me that BPF had informed them I needed to send full payment immediately. They didnt indicate what would happen if I didnt but told me to act immediately! I also continued to receive phonecalls from BPF to say I owed them money but on trying to find out who to they conveiniently kept cutting me off!? So obviously my suspicions started being allerted, even though I was trying to justify maybe it was their 'auto dial systems' at fault. Being in enough debt and not thinking straight I have now cleared the arrears (as they threatend me with further action) and set up a new Direct Debit (they said they would remove the admin charges if I did this so the arrears would be reduced) so I did. I am very aware of what I have going out each month so I enquired as to what the payments are for (as I have no idea, I have checked and double checked evrything) and how much the ballance was and was told over the phone. I then questioned them as to where I took out the 'loan' and was told a Currys store. Knowing I have 3 things currently on monthly payment plan with Currys I went into the store today and asked them if they may shed some light on the matter and the kind assistant checked their systems and went through everything and spotted nothing in conection with BPF or Clydesdale. She then asked the manager about companies who they do the payment plans through and he said they currently use HFC, but also named ones that they have used over past 20 years or so! He said he had never heared of Barclays Partner Finance nor Clydesdale Financial Services. All their info on their sytem was up to date and confirmed all 3 of my loans were with HFC (on separate policies). They double checked all the paperwork I have for the items I purchased and all is correct. I was advised by Currys to phone up BPF and ask them to send me a copy of the original agreement which I signed. So as soon as I got home this afternoon I rang up Barclays Partner Finance and asked them where I took out the loan to which they answered a Currys store! I then explained I had checked with that store and they dont deal with BPF! I then requested they send me a copy of the paperwork of my original signed agreement to me by 1st class post stating I needed to get this sorted asap! The advisor appologiesed and said it would only be sent 2nd class! Although I dont hold much hope to recieve this as I have already asked for confirmation several times in the past 4 weeks and not recived anything, I must have the correct address on their systems or they would have pulled me up on it surely? Although saying that I did receive a letter at our old address (which happens to still be where my inlaws live), but we havent lived there for over 2 years so ignored it as we didnt recognise the company and assumed it was phishing [problem]. Anyway I now wait to see what will arrive in the post and see what the next part of the mystery holds. Once I heave received this paperwork I have been asked to return to Currys who will investigate it further for me! I just wondered if anyone had any clue as to who either Barclays Partner Finance or Clydesdale Financial Services are???? Many thanks, and sorry for the waffle! GH
  3. Hello I used to have a business account with Lloyds and would like to reclaim the bank charges they issued. Can I just use the same SAC letter for personal accounts or is there a separate letter to use? If so where can I find it? Unfortunately I don't have any of the account statements anymore. Thanks.
  4. Hi Can I use the same template letter for business accounts as I have for current accounts? Thanks Heddwen
  5. Hi Im new to this site so forgive me for not understanding. I had several accounts with Lloyds TSB some years ago. Which are all now closed as I bank elsewhere. Can I still claim even though they have been closed for the past 2 - 2 1/2 years or is it to late? I hope its not to late as I suspect there may be a bit to repay, especially as I still have a loan with their other company Loans Direct. I was overdrawn over 3 accounts so they combined what I owed and set up a repayment loan over 24 years!!! I only owed around £2,000 - £3,000 so after having paid £46.64 back over 2 maybe 3 years I am finding another loan elsewhere otherwise it will hang on my neck till I retire! This is a great site. I shall battle my bank if I can still do so.
