  1. I have not done anything, the original claim took near on 2 years to settle and now egg have sold the account so whats the best way forward thanks for reply
  2. Hi guys thanks for the messages. I have been unable to access for some time and not received any e-mails notifications regards to posts so sorry in delay in reply I would be grateful if someone could give me some wording to send to Arrow. as I am slightly unsure as how to word this with the comments that have been left. I was called by the collecting company asking for higher payments and I advised them of the situation and they advised me that they would contact Arrow. I also advised them that I was not going to offer any more as this account is wrong, no credit has been offset for the amount Egg held from PPi and if I recalculate then I believe the balance is Zero or very close. Thanks I will be on here more often from now HOSNEST!!
  3. Good day guys, I have been scratching my head over this one and wonder if anyone can give me some advice please. I had a Loan with Egg that was put into dispute regards PPi, got a settlement and was paying £10 per month as gesture to withhold any legal action. Egg sold account to Arrow and I got a letter of assignment dated 25/06/2011, At this point Egg had not put the account into default. but when I look at my Experian file the Egg account was marked settled 09/07/2011 and a default was registered by Arrow on 27/05/2011??? So reading it correctly I was defaulted by a company before they had my account and also I have only ever received two letters from Arrow. 1 letter of assignment and 2 a annual statement. No Default notices. Also I have contacted Egg and they have confirmed that no default was registered by them and also a credit of £2000 + was put back against the outstanding balance which seem to have gone into the mist of sale.. so balance registered is £2K out. Any advise would be most appreciated.

No its only an alert that I found listed on Experian, I have copied it and printed it out States:- NAME XXXXXXXXXXXXXX ADDRESS XXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXX DATE OF BIRTH XXXXXXXXXXXXXXX COMPANY NAME CABOT FINANCIAL (UK) LTD ACCOUNT TYPE CREDIT CARD / STORE CARD STARTED 01/10/2001 CURRENT BALANCE SETTLED SETTLED ON 30/04/2010 FILE UPDATED ON 05/06/2011 STATUS HISTORY ( 8 ) but when you look at my file its gives a different story with the correct info
  5. I have just found an Alert on Experian that said this account was settled on 30/04/2010 I know that this is wrong but shows how things are mashed with this account. be interesting to know who had the account then.

  7. I think that i used it 2009 but not for a long time Yes shown as default with Cabot but did show Default Citi Never seen Opus as listing
  8. Hi The card was taken out originally with Associates s back in 2001 if my dates are right this then transferred to Citi Cards as has been with them till last year. I believe the transfer to Opus was in the last 18 months then to Cabot in Feb/ March this year hope this helps

Hi fellow sufferers, I have been trying to get a SAR from Citi Cards now for over two years, the present situation is as I now understand it :- Citi sold account to Opus who never advised me of this (reason explained by Opus) account was in a suspense account so no interest would be charged and no statements would be sent) hence no letter to advise account was moving. Opus then sold the account on to Cabot who sent me a letter to advise that they had bought the account from Opus. I contacted Cabot and have always maintained I did't know who Opus was and they have advised me that many people say the same. The big question How do I move forward and what is the legal standing on accounts being sold or transferred without being advised do I have any recall on either Citi or Opus as neither advised me of the pending changes. (foot note) Opus stated verbally that they could see this on their screens and were puzzled as to why neither they or I had ever had any communication before yesterday

  12. "Would the defence be they have no right to claim on an unlawfully acquired debt?" you have lost me here, why would this be their defense ? I have had a long conversation with them today as the SAR's only contains info regarding the CABOT !! when i asked why they told me that i have to contact each company in-turn, then the guy started to talk about full and final as an alternative.... lol.... he made me an offer to reduce the debt by 12% and gave me 3 months to pay nice of him i thought, but when i asked what they paid for a debt in dispute the said he could not answer.one good thing about Cabot is they advise you that they are taping or shall we call it (tapping) the call .....LOL... they are now waiting for my response as i advised they that i would not give a formal answer on the phone only in writing

I am watching this thread as I too have a similar problem. original file was with Citi cards made request for copy of original doc's waited for over 15 months then some made up agreement arrived no originals no signature, never known anything about Opus no paperwork or notifications, but Cabot say that they bought from them. Asked Cabot for SAR came today on disc and only info relates to them so still waiting for SAR from Citi so i believe account in Dispute still.

I am at point two (Moorcroft) I will send them the letter that went before I do have on file two letters from CO-OP stating that they are unable to find copy of contract but they state wrong number (hope its a typo) Last letter dated 25/3/10 states "I regret the original copy of agreement sent to you, was not linked to this account and should not have been sent to you we are unable to locate a signed application in connection with the above account number" Interesting thing is the application has my signature on it any advise please
