  1. Thank you for merging the posts. Was that you Alex? So sad. .
  2. Respect NWJ I will delete my post. Agreed, not the biggest fan, but what a talent, what a waste.
  3. The tragic death of Alex Higgins. What a waste in more ways than one. RIP.
  4. Crete, like all of the Greek islands, is beautiful. There is so much to see. Try hiring a vehicle if poss. I went to these places. Amongst others. Knossos Samaria Gorge. An all day hike where you can drink water direct from the cliffs. Spinalonga. The last known active Leper colony. The water across the bay from Agios Nikolaos ( Aggy Nik ) is so clear you can touch the fish. Stunning. And if you are staying in Rethymnon:D:p;) you are central to them all. Its also the furthest southern landmass in Europe. Next stop Africa. .
  5. Hi. Of all the people i have dealt with, i would say that the Inland Revenue, or HMRC as they are now known , are one of the most reasonable institutions out there. At least they listen if you can eventually speak to somebody. Distraint action will only come AFTER any court action, whether its a County Court Judgement, or a Bankruptcy Petition. What i would suggest you do it continue to pay whatever you can, whenever you can, and try to contact them as requested. This way if it ever went to court, and i doubt it will if you keep making payments, the judge will look on this in your favour. Also keep a record of all payments made, and all attempts of time/date etc that you have made in trying to contact them. They wont just turn up and take your things, and even after a court order, they cannot take anything that does not belong to your husband. What i found with HMRC is that they have to deal with approx 35 million people, and everything can be a bit automated. Try not to worry anymore than necessary is the best advice i can give at this stage. Things will not happen overnight.
  6. Even the cheapest "gap year" is likely to cost you at least £10k. Where is this money going to come from? The Insolvency Service will not let you have it, and you will have to explain where it come from should you put it away first.
  7. Sorry, brother or not, something doesn't ring quite true here. If the company was put into liquidation 3 years ago, give or take a while, the assets, including the vehicles, would have been disposed of by the Insolvency Service. At the very least, the company, and therefore your brother, would have had to account for it. Being a suspicious person, i would suggest your brother sold it to you, knowing that his company was going into liquidation soon after.
  8. Here you go Night Owl. This is how you calculate G forces on humans. It's pretty straight forward if you neglect friction and wind resistance, etc... Note: 250 km/hr = 69.4 m/sec and 80 km/hr = 22.2 m/s And just in case that didnt help.
  9. TESCOS BANK. OMG. NOOOOOOOOOOO. In case you missed it. BBC iPlayer - Home
