I bought a car in Feb 2008 using my Visa debit card to pay the difference between the final price and the trade in. There were problems from the beginning with the car which were reported to the dealership, but they said it was due to our lack of experience with the particular model. The problems got worse, one fault we believed was dangerous. The dealership kept taking the car back but each time when it was thought to be solved, it wasn't. It's now been back over ten times and we've said enough is enough. The dealership has accepted there is a fault by trying to repair it, but failing. We have now been told by Trading Standards that there has been a breach of contract as the vehicle is not fit for the purpose. We are now having problems with the dealer, who will not do anything other than continue to try and repair the car or make us pay thousands to exchange it or get a new one. it is still under warranty. I was wondering if this is something I can get a chargeback on as I am about to get a solicitor on to it. Any advice please?
