  1. Hi Everyone, Just wanted to let you all know that the Halifax have given me extra and paid me out today. They deposited £1360 in charges back to my account. Thanks to everyone who has advised me on this long journey and hope you all get paid out soon!!!!!! Yippee!!!!! Roberto!!!!
  2. would stronger advise not to get into telephone conversations with them as you are letting them know what you are doing and it's better to keep everything in writting.
  3. That's a good point about the 8% hadn't thought of it like that. I know what you mean about penalising the less able to pay as I'm self employed and have 5 children and there has been months when these charges have been around the 200 quid mark and we have had to leave other bills unpaid to make sure we didn't go over the overdraft again nad they have you in such a position that they always get there charges paid first. It good to see so many people getting something back of them. The problem is they have probably made more in interest over the six years then what they are paying out. It's about time the government stepped in and made them pay these back to everyone who has been charged.
  4. Lets hope your right! Just hate playing the waiting game!!
  5. Still not heard anything from the Halifax since the letter from the courts telling me they intend to defend. Nothing been put back in my account yet either, beginning to wonder whether I've wasted £120.00 court fees!!
  6. I haven't heard anything from Halifax since the courts sent me a letter saying they intend to defend. I had mine acknowledged on 24th august 06, so going by your time scale I should have been paid up by 9th september 06. If they don't pay me by then do you think it might be worth me calling this Rachel Hinchcliffe and asking her to sort it.
  7. lets hope so, would hate to be the first they actually defend in court, that would be bad luck!
  8. very interesting thread this as at court stage with halifax plc and I was going to do MBNA next but was reluctant as over my limit at the moment, but after reading your thread and how easy they paid up, I will be sending them a letter requesting statements once the halifax claim is complete. Thanks very much for sharing this info with me. Roberto
  9. I'm in the same position had acknowledgement from courts stating halifax intend to defend, but not heard anything since I received that last week. Could some one tell me who this rachel Hinchcliffe is as I would like to ring her and get my cash back. also what did you tell her to get it speeded up?
  10. I filed my money claim on 23rd August 2006 and received a letter from money claim stating that they intend to defend but I've not been paid out yet wonder why that is, hope I've done everything right?
  11. Hi there, I received an acknowledgement from the court stating that they intend to defend from the same guy as you have. I received that last week and not heard anything as yet, but I'm confident I will win as apparently it costs them more to defend then what they are paying out. Hope you win yours!!!
  12. I would contact citizens advice and ask them if you have a case to claim it back as you have a letter from them admitting their mistake. Very harsh if you don't get it back!
  13. they will probably just pay that as they offered me £180.00 and I'm claiming £1495.00 but I obviously declined there generous offer! Good luck with your claim.
  14. I had a long wait and eventually had to ring them and request a statement for the last 6 years, it cost me an extra £5.00 but was worth it as got the statements about 7 days later. They use this as a delaying tactic. Try ringing them and asking for a statement it worked for me.
  15. hi Kevin, Sent my moneyclaim on 23rd August 2006 and received letter from courts today stating that Halifax intend to defend all of the claim and you think your at squeeky bum time! Nearly there now though one way or another!
  16. received letter from the courts today stating that Halifax intend to defend all the claim against them. The letter is signed A O'Brien (RAH) defendants solicitor. Starting to panic now as nothing gone in my account and then this letter.
  17. been a week tomorrow and not had anything put in my account and not herd anything from Halifax yet. Getting worried that they are going to defend. Just my luck. If anyone has any advice please!!!!!
  18. Moneyclaim has been acknowledged according to court website and just waiting for the Halifax response hope they pay up!
  19. Just got my confirmation letter from the courts stating they will serve it on Tuesday, that'll be a shock for the Halifax, hoping they will pay up next week as could do with the cash for my holidays.
  20. I've just done my money claim and just claimed 8% of amount in total and left out the bit about daily interest. So all I've claimed is the amount they ******me of plus 8% plus cost for statements plus court costs. Will let you know if I'm successful or not. edited;please dont use libelous words!
  21. Filed moneyclaim today cost me £120.00 hope I get it back as alot of cash to me that is. I thought it would cost £30.00 according to the site. Anyway all done now and will update when I hear anything hopefully when they put the cash in my account.
  22. wrote off on 18th August not heard anything as yet will fill out money claim on 23rd August and hopefully receive a large amount of cash within a week which seems to be the norm.
  23. Okay then will write off tomorrow and accept the offer as partial payment and tell them i will be persuing them for the rest through the courts. Thanks for the advice everyone!
  24. Well done! Wish mine was sorted. Think I will sleep on it and decide in the morning. Thanks for the idea though could end up making a profit from them!
