Your bank is taking your benefits in charges
raider99 replied to steven4064's topic in Benefits and HMRC
My jsa got eaten in bank charges today. But it was lloyds bouncing of a payment that would have sent me £10 in debit if they had paid it but sent me £20 in debit by bouncing it. This is the 2nd occourance this year and now ive got £4 to live on for a week ( me/wife/3 kids) where the gov say i need £90. 2 people at lloyds say they must refund the charge as its not my money but the governments, last person said phone back at 8 in the morning. Oh well kids dry bread for tea.. -
Lloyds Tsb have taken their bank charges and my jsa payment has gone in and lloyds will not refund the charges. ( although 2 of their operators said they were legally required too). I now have £4 to look after my wife and 3 children for the next 7 to 10 days when the government say i need £90 to look after them for a week. How do i get my charges refunded and stop lloyds taking " The governments money" as its not mine. Ive been reading the social security act 1992 and section 187 says they cant take it.
