  1. No, they haven't just put it up, I was listening to Martin was-his-face too which made me check. Although I had the reply for the CCA on 7th September, I had been a bit lazy and not done anything with it. They put it up in 2007 to 21.9%, I have asked them to send a copy of the letter. Does the agreement with the tick boxes sound like it could be enforceable in your opinion?
  2. Hi, don't want to barge in on your thread, but I'm hoping you can help! I CCA'd MBNA and have received a "copy of my executed agreement" which is a photocopy dated 27/7/06, but only has tick boxes and no actual signatures (I would have applied for this online, but can't remember for sure). The terms and conditions enclosed are the "up to date" version. I called Virgin today to check what my interest rate is - it's 21.9%. It was 0% for a year, the agreement states 15.9% variable, but they say they wrote to me on 6/8/07 to tell me that they were increasing my rate to 21.9%. So now I'm not sure w
  3. Hi, I have a problem with my Barclaycard account and hoping for some advice. I opened a Barclaycard account pre April 2007. I don't think I ever used the card, if I did I repaid it in full each time but I haven't kept the statements. In May 2008 I was a self-employed mortgage advisor and as times were tough I got into a bit of debt with my credit cards and ended up transferring a balance from another card (Virgin) to my Barclaycard in May 08. This is where I'm a bit confused as they then changed my account number. I didn't notice this until I did a CCA request and the letter they sent sai
  4. Hi guys, I CCA'd Halifax credit card, Virgin MBNA credit card & barclaycard on 17th April. To date the only response I have had is from Halifax with a copy of the agreement and a warning letter about trying to dispute T&Cs etc. Where so I stand now? Does this qualify as the accounts being in dispute? What do I do now? Should I request SAR's? Bit lost as there seems to be conflicting info on various threads. My accounts aren't in arrears, but the payments are due this month but don't want to pay if don't need to! All of the cards were taken out prior to April 2007. Any help would b
  5. thanks dx100uk, think i'll do it myself rather than go through a company like monster claims - even though it may take longer. Is there any mileage in investigating the credit cards that have been paid off? Monster Claims say they reclaim any interest paid in the past along with charges as the contract was never enforceable therefore no interest should ever have been paid. By the way, I agree about the last post! Not sure of the relevance.........?
  6. Has anyone used this company to claim credit cards charges? I have been told that if agreements are unenforcable then the credit card companies have to write the debt off. But mainly what interests me is that they say it applies to loans and credit cards that have been repaid, and not just exisiting cards. Obviously the fees they charge are quite high in my opinion. I have CCA'd 3 of my exisiting credit cards, but not sure if there would be any point doing the same for the ones which have been repaid? Any advice would be appreciated

  8. Oh right! Thanks for that. Will call the companies and bring my a/cs up to date tomorrow. Is there somewhere on here that lists what should or shouldn't be on the CCAs when they arrive? And do they normally provide them within the timescale? I hate having to ring call centres to chase things up, and end up getting passed from dept to dept, usually all in different countries!
  9. Thanks Huff&Puff, why the 7th May by the way? Thanks for you reply
  10. Hi, I am new to this and am having trouble getting info that is applicable to my circumstances. My query is regarding CCA request. I requested CCA info using a template found on theis site for 3 credit cards with Halifax, Barclaycard and Virgin on 17/4/09 by recorded delivery each with a £1 postal order. I have also cancelled my direct debits for the minimum payment, and have already had Virgin (MBNA) and Barclaycard contacting me for payment. My questions are: 1. do i have to make minimum payment in the mean time? 2. is there a step by step guide to what action i should take now? i have n
