  1. Thank you locutus. Yes I have got antivirus installed. I have Spyware Doctor.
  2. I'm sorry I have not been on for a while, but I have been rather busy. I would like to thank you all for your helpful posts and let you know that I have managed to sort out the problem of not being able to open files sent in emails, etc. by uninstalling and reinstalling Microsoft Office. Thank you all once again.
  3. I have got the same program installed on here as I have on my lap-top, but for some reason it does not work properly on here. I can use 'Word' and 'Word-pad' to send letters, doc's etc, but I cannot read them. Can you please tell me why this might be so. Remember I am a novice when it comes to anything technical.
  4. No, what you suggested seems to have stopped that. But when I click on open to open the file, nothing's there.. In the pop-up box where you open the file it says gif_auto_file. Thank you for the zip file program. No I have not re-booted I shall do that now.
  5. Thank you Welshmam2009 your instructions were very helpful. However I still can't read the attachments. It goes through all the process of opening the attqchment but there is nothing there. Yes, I am using Vista and yes I do have the latest version of Adobe Reader and also Microsoft Word. The only thing I don't have at the moment is a programme to open a zip file.
  6. Hello All I am new to this site and have a problem with my computer and wondered if there is anyone about who may be able to assist me. When I try to open any attachments sent to me in an email I get a little pop-up box which says "This file does not have a program associated with it for performing this action. Create an association in the Set Associations control panel". If someone can point me in the right direction as to what to do about this I should be very grateful. I must point out though, that I am quite a novice when it comes to anything technical to do with computers.
  7. Thank you Mr lex, I haven't used Champix done it all on my own. Very hard sometimes but like everyone keeps saying, well worth it.
  8. Hello there, three weeks now and still not smoking. My wife says it is a miracle. I am beginning to notice what you said callumsgran about smokers smelling of ciggies as well. I have given myself a pat on the back.
  9. Well its been a week now since I gave up the smokes. It hasn't been easy, especially since going back to work. But I think I'm getting there.
  10. I'm sorry Rooster perhaps my previous post was wrongly worded but it is the attitude of a lot of ex-smokers. I am a long distance lorry driver and have had several aborted attempts at giving up, I smoke from boredom. I am going to have another attempt now that the new smoking laws have come into being and I can no longer smoke while I am driving. So here goes, I will let you know how I get on.
  11. Yes Lula great stuff. I don't follow the football too closely but I'm glad they are on the top of the league maybe championship league next year.
  12. Thanks for that info. I'll get her to ring the number on Tuesday as it will be 30 days then
  13. Hello there callumsgran. No I didn't sign up to have a pop at you as you have said. I don't think you know me I am called Michael and I live in Leicester. My reply to you was just a general opinion of most people who still smoke and can't get round to giving up as in my case. You call me a Mr one post, well yes I am new to the forum but I shall probably be posting more in the future.. Hope you soon feel better. Have a nice easter.
  14. My wife has recently part exchanged her car. She sent off the Part 9 of the V5C informing them of this of the 28th February. Does anyone know how long it should take for the DVLA to acknowlege receipt of this. Michael
  15. Typical ex-smokers attitude Keep it up all of you trying to give up. Best of luck
