  1. have just drafted a e mail for the council please could anyone have a look and give me feed back as i dont want to put wrong info in there and make me look silly... dear mr council man. i am writing you this e mail in regards to my account which i have been paying to the bailiff company.as you know they have put on charges but i would like to contest the charge with regards to their van fee which was incurred in may 09 it was for £220 for attending with a vehicle with a view to remove..the reason i am contesting this is because the van never attended and no goods were removed from my property so there for i dont think i should have been charged for this i also think that it is an unreasonable amount to charge as it would not cost that much to hire a van for the day and i feel that the bailiff company have overcharged by a long shot..if you could get back to me as soon as possible with regards to this i would be very grateful as if the van fee is removed i will only have £194.00 left to pay off the bill and it would make things easier for me as some of my circumstances have changed and im finding it difficult to keep these payments up.. many regards .. if anyone got any advice for me on this would love to hear it many thanks all for helping me...totts
  2. morning all cashba wouldnt emma fall under the vulnerable category as she is nearly at the end of her pregnancy there for the bailiff would not be aloud to visit her or have any communication with her???
  3. thanks for that just seen the post you put on another thread about fraudulent fees but is that just for Scottish laws as it was a threat about sheriffs and am i right in thinking that the law is different for Scotland as it is for england and wales????
  4. yes have looked to see if he was certified and yes he was... also a van did not turn up to remove. the fee is for an intention to remove goods..
  5. morning all.. i was just about to e mail my council to see if they can get the bailiffs van fees removed but am not very good at wording these sort of things so was just wondering if anyone could give me any tips on what to put to them...i have worked it out and if they remove the van fees then thats all i will have left to pay is £190 which will then mean the end of this nightmare for me (thank god) have been reading some more threads on here and there is one that says that the bailiff can charge what he likes for removal fees i thought that it could only be reasonable cost anyone know how right this is???if thats so then i wont be able to get the van fees removed...(which means i will be starving for that little bit longer lol)
  6. it makes so much of a difference when you get to deal with a polite bailiff who dont try and bull**** you in to believing that you have to give them every penny you got....i to meet a nice one once but i dont think there is many left now....
  7. morning all hallowitch its good to see you still here helping ppl.... just an update on my bailiff problem.i have almost finished paying my bill off with them(cant wait to have a tidy meal lol) there is just over £300 left to pay so i am about to e mail the council and tell them that the last £220 i will not pay as this is what they charged me for the imaginary van and ppl that were supposed to come out and as everyone on here has informed me they cant charge for a removal of goods when it did not take place even if it did i phoned my local hire company and they quoted me £75 per day for a truck not just a little van but a great big thing...so should i also inform the bailiff that i will not pay this or should i just tell the council and get them to inform the bailiff????i must say though i will be sad not to be getting their ever so nice letters ever week now telling me they going to visit..i wait round all day for them and they dont come lol...
  8. thanks all for your advice will just put this with the others then under recycled confetti and use it for the next wedding lol

  11. ive been paying mine every 3 months i think it comes in at about £30 so as i have missed the last one mabye they have... am writting a nice text to my other half now as he left a mess in the house so maybe i will send it to this alan guy insted it goes along the lines of when you get to this house i am going to do something thats not very nice to you...he he do you think he will take it in the wrong way???
  12. have not paid this months instalment as my other half is not in work so maybe but would they send the bailiffs in that fast????so would that make them a dca where i can just tell them to get lost and get back to paying tv license or are they a certified bailiff where i will have to pay them and their charges...
  13. morning all just got back from my school run to find a little brown unsealed envelope hanging out my letter box...it was from a company called iqor recovery any1 know who they are all it says is to phone some alan on his mobile no or to text him
  14. have just had an e mail off the water company regarding my cousins account they have said that they will not take the account back from moorcroft and that she should keep paying them.....can anyone please advise us on what the next step would be many thanks all...
  15. sofas are exempt....your best bet is to ask the council to help you out this is what i did bailiff wanted £100 pw off me have now got it down to £50 if the council say there is nothing they can do to help remind them that it is their responsibility as the bailiff company is employed by them....was you given a time limit to pay all the money by the bailiff company???i ask this as i was and i didnt start paying as i could not afford it they kept saying that they would come but it was not until a week before the dead line that they turned up so i would not be to worried about them coming as they wont want your belongings just your hard earned money hope this helps
  16. thanks so much for all your help...she has cancelled the dd and i have e mailed the water company now its just wait and see will be writing a nice letter to moorcroft in the morning and telling them to very politely leave her alone and as for the man who came i have since found out that he is a local man and as i live no where moorcrofts offices i am assuming that he is self employed there for he would have to be certified (i think) please correct me if im wrong...also i done a search on all bailiffs and he no certified bailiffs work for moorcroft.
  17. no she had a red letter then they sent it to the dca
  18. thanks for your help all... have just told my cousin to get down to the bank and cancel the dd have also just e mailed the water company asking them to take the debt back...if they dont can i still pay the water company on line instead of the bailiff????
  19. thanks for that just spoke to my cousin for some more info and i goes like this..... the debt is for water rates just before xmas a man called to say that he was from moorcroft and he needed to sort out a payment plan with her so she did it was originally for £30 per month which he came round and collected from her every month for 4 months then he asked her to set up a dd with moorcroft which she did at £40 i know that this dont sound much but at the moment she is on little money and her partner is not in work at the moment..so i suggested that she cancelled the dd as when the guy cam he did not do a levy (not sure if dca do these) so i was also thinking would she be able to stop the dd and pay the water company in stead would they now except payments from her as she has been paying moorcroft..hope this makes sense..
  20. sorry as i said am a little confused....i only asked if something was ordered because depending on how you set the account up you have to sign something in stores they offer a competition to sign up for and unless you tick the box that states that you dont want to sign up for a next catalog you will be automatically. even without ordering you will still be billed for the catalog..and if you had ordered and received the items how can you then turn around and say you know what i dont want to pay this....sorry if this sounds like im being funny but if you order something and keep it then yes you should pay for what you had....
  21. hi all just have a little question my cousin has a debt that is being dealt with by moorcroft and she has been paying by dd monthly now her circumstances have changed and she cant keep up the payments what will happen to her if she stops paying...dont know to many details but if you need more will find them out..... is that better twofoot lol
  22. lololol sorry twofoot didnt start my own thread as the question was for my cousin and i dont know all the details she just asked me to find out for her so this was the first sight i found with moorcroft....so sorry but will start a thread now....thanks for the slap lol
