  1. I bought a car registered in 2001, three months a go from a garage that was supposedly MOT'd and Serviced before we picked it up. Today after hearing grinding when breaking we took it to Kwikfit to let them have a look. Just received a call from them telling us the front breaks have ahad pads replaced on worn shoes, the back breaks have cylinders thats have been leaking for a few months so have contaminated the shoes, discs and pads and that it will cost nearly £500 to repair!! They also confirmed that the break issues should have been picked up in the "service" that the garage told us they gave the car. Obviosuly not impressed with the garage. I called them and they have told me that "they are too busy to help right now" and are now telling me that they "dont remember selling me the car!" nor are they even entertaining that they gave a service, though we took it back as the service light came on as we drove off the forecourt and they then apparently gave the service - more like just turned the light off! We have confirmation of a full service (got the stamp to prove it) and just this second they have backed down and said that they only done an oil service!!!!! Surely this aint right !! Any advice on where i stand or what i can do is really really really appreciated! thanks in advance
  2. Hi, Andie1981 - I woudl really be interested in any updates you have as I am heading towards a similar thing with ICS. I signed up for a course with ICS in December 08 and I paid the 39.99 deposit and was told (I signed up over the phone) that my monthly payments would start end of Jan 09 and would be £65.65 a month, that i would receive the materials and a payment plan etc. When my materials came i have no payment plan and when I called ICS they said it would probably come though later. Two weeks before the end of January I received a letter from Clarity requesting me to pay arrears of £82.80 even though the agreed payment date hadnt even passed nor had I received a requested payment plan and anyway the payment was more than the 65.55 originally agreed. Obviously I called Clarity who then advised me that they hadnt got my account on record! I then spoke to ICS, who at first requested double the monthly payment but then backed down and told me that they would put a hold on the letters and investigate my claims of agreeing to 65.65 a month rather than 82.80. A week of chasing later and i was still none the wiser of what was happening, how much i was supposed to pay and not received a payment plan. I have chased for responses etc and overall have had at least 10 communications (email and phone) with ICS and have been ignored. Last week I received an envelope containing just a screen print of a customer service system which detailed the invoices that would apply to myself - these were of course showing the "new" monthly payment of £74.22 not the £82.80 or the £65.65 and this was not a payment plan of which we were told we were to receive - just a lazy screen print. No additional letter, note or correspondence what so ever just a screen print! Again I chased for some answers adding that I wanted to cancel and requesting the address to send the materials back, in all I have emailed this to them at least 4 times and eventually got an email reply answering none of my questions just stating that I am "out of the 7 day cancellation period and my monthly payments are £74.22". The thing is that I wanted to do this course and had no problem paying for it but find the fact that ICS have just seemingly changed their mind about how much to charge me (how can they go back on this once I was told -over the phone- on how much it would cost?) and yet not even bothered to send me a payment plan makes me not trust them as a company and makes me want to cancel this course and sever the ties. And this isnt even taking into account their shocking customer service! All I wanted is a detailed payment plan like I was orignally told I would get, I dont even know where to actually pay the money as they have never supplied this!!! Yet they cant wait to send in the heavies at Clarity! I havent signed a single thing with ICS but really want to get them out of my life!!! So, please if anyone has any pointers in how to cancel and get Clarity/ICS off my back I would really appreciate it. Thanks again guys.
