Hi, I work for a computer services supplier. I was told a few weeks ago that the work I do for my main client is moving to another supplier & that I would be transferred to this new supplier under TUPE on 16th May. Today I have been told that my potential new employer intends to run the workload from South Africa... Hence 16/05/09 00.01 I start work for the new supplier, 16/05/09 00.02 I am made redundant. They claim the work is being transferred for economic reasons. Anyone got a legal view on this? Whatever the legalities, I think it's disgusting... I'm left at age 50, 30+ years experience of a technical speciality (MVS Systems Programming), with next to no chance of a getting another job. Cheers, Steve.
