  1. My friends who are with them say its actually a credit licence they have that is mind to revoke and as they do not loan money they actually dont need that licence the one they need is the ministry of justice one. Dont know how right that is tho but Im sure that Lord_Tiger will know if thats right or not. DG
  2. Thanks your reply. Thats the problem keep quiet about not receiving one just in case they want to go down the legal route at sometime really don't know which way to go on this one. DG
  3. Long story cut short. Took a credit card out with originally Littlewoods which then was renamed to Solution Finance through Barclaycard. Struggled like everyone else to pay so doing a payment arrangement, been paying Barclaycard, usual threats off Mercers then Calder - doorstep collector will call - Dont visit me letter sent. Yesterday letter arrives from no less than Littlewoods stating I haven't complied with the recently sent Default Notice with all the usual threats, doorstep collector, legal proceedings, ccjs etc. What I would like to know, as I have not receive said Default Notice should I tell them I've never received this or just ignore the letter? Not done cca yet pretty sure that no agreement signed only an application form. Any advice please. Thanks DG
  4. They exist company based somewher in the Manchester Area DG
  5. This is absolutely fantastic and great another nail in the coffin the Stick. DG:whoo:
  6. Next one they send if you must open it do it very carefully have a look at what they say seal it back down and write return to send no such person at this address put it back in the box and see what happens. If you don't know the debt and are sure it's not you thats what i would do. DG
  7. PPI is the payment protection insurance that most companies want you to take out in case you are out of work, sick etc., so that payments will continue. You need someone with the knowledge of ppi to help explain how to work it out, sorry but I'm nop good at that. DG
  8. Has he checked his credit file with experian or the like it would show if they have got a ccj against him. Quite often letters arrive stating the bailiffs may call the operative word being may. Its worth checking his credit file first. DG
  9. You get used to the cameras. We are in a large office, there are dome cameras all over the office, corridors, breakroom and reception. The only places there are no cameras are the kitchen and the loos. They should have installed one in the kitchen then people wouldn't be nicking other peoples lunches. We know the bosses log in from home especially when they ring in and say such a body was doing such a thing etc., but nobody should be worried if your doing your job. DG
  10. There will be plenty of charges added to it which obviously can be looked into claiming back, you need to check to see if you actually had ppi on the loan as it is known for it to be added without people realising. DG
  11. Don't know the percentage but my Blackhorse was taken out in 2004 as is enforceable. DG
  12. Sit yourself down and do an I&E List your priorty debts first such as mortgage/rent, water, gas electric, insurances, food, clothing etc., out. Look at your incomes, deduct from one another whats left is what you may have available to pay the creditors. Do CCAs to all the credit card companys and any loans you may have. 1 pound (pound sign not working ) PO to each of the creditors along with the cca letter, typed name not signed. They then have 12 + 2 days to respond otherwise the "account in dispute letter" off to them. Make sure all your letters state COMMUNICATION IN WRITING ONLY. Send letters recorded delivery at the very least, keep a copy of any letters you send to them and any that are received. DG
  13. If you look on the cccs website you will find that you can actually do an I&E which will then tell you what you would have left over to pay your creditors. Barclaycard are the worst to deal with. I know they have set their pet poodles onto me, constantly phoning on my mobile only had a couple of letters, the only good thing about their pet poodles Mercers is that since they got involved the interest has stopped piling on. If you decide to go with someone like the cccs which is a free service they don't like anyone putting an account into dispute by the CCA route so if you go with them don't mention that you are going down that route as well. One of my creditors took me to court the only advice cccs offered me was where to sign the forms. However, with the help of this forum and people who have been in this situation themselves was I able to get this case struck out, this creditor does not phone me or write to me except to send me a statement. I do still pay them although if I stopped I'm pretty sure that they wouldn't want to go that route again. I'm still with the cccs and out of the many creditors I have only 2 have kept adding interest and charges Barclaycard and Sainsburys but I will go after the interest and charges at a later date. A lot of creditors stop the interest and charges once you go on a DMP with someone like cccs or payplan. You will get lots of help and advise from everyone. DG
  14. They are just the inhouse collectors for the likes of JD Williams who I am sure you know have loads of different catalogue names. Same address at Hunts Back, Manchester. Nobodies to worry about 9 times out of 10 they can't provide a signed agreement. DG
  15. They have nearly 30k and it is looking like they are about to have one for 9k+ written off due to defective agreement. I do hope you get your problem with them sorted to your satisfaction, but do keep us all posted. DG
  16. Did you miss any payments to FSF the way I understand it is if you don't pay them or you don't pay them on time they will not make any payment to any creditor. My friends had to wait a while with a utility company till they sent the invoice that FSF had requested as they needed the proof that they actually owed it to the utility company so I suppose a few weeks could pass in that respect before the payment started to be made. Suprised by the charges, don't you get any information as to how many call and to who. How many update calls did you get. What was the courier charge for? As I said before I don't have first hand knowledge of FSF but my friends seem to be happy with them. DG
  17. Mercers will try it on. Barclayshark will try anything they can think of. I'm with CCCS and they do deal with them. Mercers were ringing my mobile 10-15 times a day from 8 am till 9 pm I've still not spoken to them and have no intentions of doing so either. I've sent them the harrassment letter also pre-empted their doorstep collector letter by sending them the don't darken my doorstep letter. Stay calm, be firm and don't let their WE MAYs worry you, that is all they are may be. Don't pay the sharks a penny, do it all through CCCS. DG
  18. I've sent the harrasment letter to a few, I still get the odd phone call everyday but I now just ignore it. They want me they have to write to me. I've also pre-empted them with the dont darken my door step letter as well. DG
  19. Just been beaten to it. Exact letter I was going to post. They should not have pushed a card through the door telling you to ring a debt collector anyone could have got hold of it. In fact your partner may hae got hold of it and may not have known you owed any money. Get them reported the more people that report things like this the more chance there is of getting it stopped. DG
  20. I personally would send a copy of all your correspondance to Capquest to HL and tell them to go back to Capquest. I would make the payment that you offered if they attempted to go down the court route a judge wouldn't look too kindly on them doing this when you are making payments. Some companies issue new agreements but shop direct probably wouldn't. Is your agreement from them signed? If you can post it up so it can be checked over. It's amazing how much grief you can get from a creditor for a small amount and the large balances creditors seem to accept including stopping interest. By the way did you get notice/deed of assigment advising you it had been sold on?
  21. Exactly the same agreement as my friends. They told me the reference at the top is your reference with them so I would suggest your remove it quick otherwise they will be prepared for you. DG
  22. Sounds like you've had a rough time with them and looks like you've thought long and hard about it. Have you not had anything written off as they call it. My friends have done alright so far with them but I don't know them as I've not dealt with myself. Seems like some peoplee do alright and others like yourself have a bad time of it. Keep us posted as to what your solicitor says. Remember not too much personal details about yourself. They may log on to the site as guests. DG
  23. Have you reported them yet and if you have has anything be done yet. I would also be tempted to report this latest visit even though they called at the wrong address. DDG
