Help and advice needed! I have received a letter from the local county court for an old debt originally taken out in 1997 for £6000. I took out the loan and defaulted on the payments as I ran into financial difficulties. I took legal advice and made an agreement to pay £5 per month and did so for the next 5 years. I then moved house and lost all contact with the debtors (Paragon) back in 2003. I have no documentation of the loan and am so worried that they will inforce bailiff action after the court judgement and take my household items. Can anyone advise me on what to do? I have 14 days to reply to the court, I cannot afford to pay the debt of £8000 as stated on the paperwork received from the court.
