  1. Sorry if not clear.Alternatives - I made suggestion at first consultation that if not succesful with the new role I wanted to try and remain with the company (been here 12 years) and would be interested in other roles even lower grade roles and was prepared to undergo re training LGV driver or MHE driver.I declined to apply for the new role. The re org affected the whole department of approx 40 persons but only 2 roles redundant and subsequently 2 of us given redundancy notice (I am currently working my notice).
  2. Hi, bit of advice please, been made redundant, submitted appeal on a number of points but main one re lack of meaningful consultation and reasons for my redundancy not fully explained or discussed with me. No real encouragement so far as finding another role in the company. At the time of the announcement we were all told of the proposed re org my role plus one other were informed our roles were being made redundant and a new role has been created and all in attendance were told they were welcome to apply for the new role, whilst in consultation the new role was advertised both internally an
  3. Advice re expect compensation - been a Tesco Bank MasterCard holder for many years direct debit setup to clear at end of every month. Beginning of August Tesco failed to inform me that my card had been used 4 times in 1 day at same store total 6 purchases amounting to just short of £5000, I checking my account 2 days later at beginning of month noticed these fraudulent transactions and reported immediately to Tesco fraud dept, CC cancelled and new card issued, was told fraudulent amounts would be credited to my account so I would not be required to pay them, almost2 weeks go by before Tesco se

  5. Obviously HR were never going to tell me about it but when I mentioned it they did acknowledge that it was something that could be considered if I were to take a step back into a lower job, knowing about it has given me more confidence to look for another job within the company another job means I keep my length of service, pension, bonus, shares. thanks Emmzzi.
  6. Feeling a little more positive since I found out about the 'buy down' and have put this to HR and awaiting reply, thanks Emmizzi.
  7. Hi, present role is involved supporting transport arm of business so have a good understanding of driver role just have never been an HGV driver but know legislation etc they are the most protected of trades! Our drivers do have delivery window and are multidrop, unload and linked to bonus but allowance made for traffic jams etc! Not so physical as average age is well over 50 large majority all eaten too many yorkie bars! Due to delivery windows end up working less hours then we do, have 45 minute break every 4 hours (we only get 1/2 hour) they get £2 lunch money everyday, sick pay, drop &am
  8. Hi, been told my middle manager role is to be made redundant, told as a part of the re-org there is a new role being created not a manager but as a co-ordinator suspect this role will encompass most of my duties plus others), had initial consultation and agreed I would consider voluntary redundancy (I am 56) and am awaiting figures to be given to me also told them I would be interested in the new role so as not to burn my bridges but in truth do not fancy the role feel it is time to let them get on with it without my efforts. My thoughts here are that I am a middle manager but the company hav
  9. SMG1, will have a look for Brigader posts thanks. Self employed dont understand reasoning there but sounds interesting!
  10. SG1, thanks good news, mind a little easier now its not a fortune but will lessen the impact for 6 months as I am envisgaing in present climate it not being easy to get another job either at same income or less as I am 56. Now need to go to pensions see about private pension drawing early at 56 or cashing it in as only been paying in since 2003?
  11. Hi SG1 thanks for your support and the link and just had a quick look and can see that I was not understanding is that JSA is 2 types:Income-based JSA is means testedContributory JSA is Non means testedI will do a search as necessary but anyone know is there a great deal of difference in what is actually paid? amounts?
  12. RMW you are right, I will make a claim and see what comes of it then I will know for sure, Thank you.
  13. Thank you all for your time to reply, RMW I really wanted you to be right I knew I would not be entitled to other benefits but just wanted to confirm if JSA was worth going through the humiliation process to claim but sadly it appears as my old service muckers confirm it does seem I wil not get much or nothing at all of JSA?
  14. Hi, question relates to will I be able to claim jobseekers allowance or should I just save myself the humiliation of signing on? Situation: Just been informed by my employers of 11 year that my post is to be made redundant, I am 56 years old, ex military I completed 22 years and I am in receipt of my military pension payment, I understand that if made redundant compulsory or voluntary you are entitled to claim Job Seekers allowance, my question is as I have my military pension payment each month will I be entitled to Job Seekers?
  15. Once again thank you Mr Government for your prompt and valuable response that ties excactly with what I was thinking, it is appreaciated that mum has a responsibility as she was the one making the decisions riding her scooter but was confused by the ramps. We await the insurers further responses now, we have no predetermined amount of compensation and would be happy to consider offers for pain and suffering, we have told the insurers that mum is aware of the legal process but for the moment is happy to deal with this matter herself saving costs of a legal representaive, we will continue with
