  1. Completely agree with you guys - its down to CAG that i received my money back and they have provided me with so much help.. (thanks guys) CAG are here to help people with cases like my own, so you should not be so rude and just be greatful you actually have your money back.
  2. I have just received £180 from Abbey for 3 lots of charges that happend over 4 months. They have written me a letter back saying that they were not in the wrong but they would do it out of goodwill! Another success.. thanks for your help everyone onCAG
  3. Help! Bought an 07 reg car about 2 months ago - since i bought it - its been in to the garage 5 times.. and i have now found out they have to keep it for a week as the gear box has to be taken out - i want to return the car and unwind the deal but it doesn't say anythin about this in my contract.. Any ideas? Its a HP regualted agreement but says i have no rights under the consumer credit act! which i think is utter crap!
  4. So got my statement through today they are charging me £20 for going over the overdraft £30 for going £1.61 over and another £30 for another £2.17 over the limit.. there still hasn't been a reply to my letter though - which was sent monday before last and i had written in it i allow them 14 days so bring on monday!
  5. Hey people.my dilemma: i recently ran over my overdraft limit by £7 i then got £80 worth of charges 22 days later - which i did not know i was due to get: £20 - clearing an unauthorised overdraft fee £30 - clearing visa payment £30 - clearing visa payment So because i did not realise i was getting £80 it took me once again over my overdraft limit. I then rang up and they said they would start an investigation and told me there would be a further £80 taken out of my account - because of running over this time with their charges.. so now i am going to have £160 deducted in 2 lots of charges of £80 merely for going over my overdraft limit by £7. I am disgusted. They have refused to refund my charges this time as they have refunded them before as a ''good will gesture''. I have found a great letter online: You have charged me for £80 on the 15th April 2007, i have since then found out that a further £80 will be deducted around the 6th May 2007. It has come to my attention that this is unlawful at common law, and under statute and recent consumer regulations. In the terms of the contract which you agreed to at the time that I opened my account, it is implied that you will conduct yourselves in a manner which complies with UK law. Unless you can prove that they merely cover your administrative costs, I require full repayment of these charges, which I calculate at £80 plus the removal of the £80 that is yet to go on my account in May. I also ask you to remove any default notices on my credit record that are related to any previous charges. A correction or amendment to the entries is not acceptable. If you do not comply fully within 14 days, I shall begin a claim against you for the full amount, plus interest and costs, plus I shall submit a complaint to the Information Commissioner. Yours faithfully but do not know whether to send this as i dont know what i would do if they refused the money again - i couldnt afford to go to court just for £160 but i dont want them to get away with this! HELP!!

  8. Only thing is they didnt charge me that much only like £1.20 but it just annoyed me that they allowed me to take out that £90 when my ministatement said the bill had gone yet they took it out after.. i am curious whether to try n claim the phone bill money back as its really cost me that extra £90 they allowed me to take out when it hadnt actually come out.. so i had that money that was over my limit taken out of this months pay cheque - by their mistake... tnx for ur help tho
  9. I don't know if anybody can help me but i was just looking for some advice.. basically i had a phone bill due out on 4th May, i went to the bank on the 5th May and checked my ministatement it said the phone bill had been taken out and that i had £97 so i withdrew £90 i needed for the weekend. I checked my balance on the 7th at a barclays machine and it said i was over my overdraft limit by £120, i rang Abbey because i couldn't understand how they had taken my phone bill out after that withdrawel of £90, as before when i have been £3 short of a phone bill they cancelled the transaction. So i was on hold for 15 minutes and spoke to someone who didnt have a clue and put me through to another department, he also said he couldn't help me, so i wasted money on an 0845 number for half an hour. I received a letter from Abbey saying i was over my overdraft and it asked me to ring them so i did, they said they would charge me for the interest on the overdraft, now i have been paid and money is in my account my card is being declined in shops and in Abbey bank machines for no reason. I don't know if i should try and claim back the money that they took out on top of my overdraft or if its a losing battle
